I wanted to finally say hey to everyone and a big thank you for all the great info on this site. I'm one of those people who generally does alot of research on things especially when money is involved. I've ordered all the parts I think I need for what I'm planing right now but I also wanted to check in with you guys in case anyone has any advice.
-Frankenlift Prem II
-JBA UCAs
-Skid Row Front, Engine/Tranny and T-Case skids
-Mopar gas tank skid
-Skink Supersliders

Just bought my truck in August. It's an 02 5spd only had 69k on it and I love it! It has 235/70/r16s now which eventually will be bigger when these are gone or I find some money. Probably will go with 245/75/r16
Also haven't decided on diff covers.
I'll be out on trails but not too extreme, I would like to stay as light as possible with protection, I live in the North East so salt is an issue. I will post some pix soon. Any thoughts on any basics I may be missing?
Again, thanks everybody!

Yeah, the bumpstop thing, I wasn't sure what the story was with that so when I talked to Heather I asked about them and she said even though people are putting them on its more for peace of mind and not needed -I will put some on if you guys think its the right thing to do. - 3" teraflex? Recovery pts have been on my mind just forgot to mention them. Trying to figure out where and what to attach with my stock bumpers. All your thoughts are helpful. thanks!

Welcome to LOST.

The bumpstops will keep your suspension from bottoming out and damaging the springs or shocks, not critical to get them on there right away, but you will want them once you go offroad.

For recovery points you have a couple of options.
the MOPAR rear tow hook and front tow hooks are what came from the factory and will work just fine. I think the front set can be had for $50-$100 and the rear for < $50

A trailer hitch is a nice upgrade and runs $100-$150 new.

If you have a trailer hitch, you will also need a reciever shackle mount

There have been a number of members that have fabricated front tow points using a couple of trailer hitch ball mounts. Search for "front tow point" to find those threads.

if ya goin with skid row for the front, i'd get a rusty's tank skid rather than the mopar but really up to you ;)

sounds like a good list to me!

also if ya end up lookin for a roof rack we have a resident rack builder who makes some guddies :)

I'm thinking I would like to go with the shackles. If I can't make that come together like I want then I'll take you up on the hooks- thanks. I went under the truck and I must say I'm a bit dumbfounded since my honda accord seemed better set up for towing. What were they thinking! I already ordered the mopar skid was thinking on saving weight and going with the idea that it offered some protection and will hopefully be enough for what I intend to do.
And thanks for all the ideas i appreciate it. Keep um comin' :JEEPIN:

Yes I did feel v lucky to have found one and it was in a color choice I could except red or black. It seemed to have been owned by a female Dr. who it appears only drove it to the hospital and back 69k miles when I found her and looks to have been garaged. The Doc may have ordered it that way- with the stick as it has the leather package with the heated seats and I don't think those two items went together! If it makes you feel a bit better I have never shifted anything so sloppy in my life. Overall though I am loving my KJ so far and I found packages waiting for me when I got home yesterday - my frankenlift and gas skid came in :D

Thanks for the plug. We also made a great gas tank skid though too!

have never heard that before or seen that
a aaahhhh :o :o Honda Accord was better set up for towing. Maybe the little Red Wagon I had as a kid, but not towing a real trailer or anything major like the KJ can :ROTFL:

I used the wrong lingo there i wasn't talking about towing as in towing something I meant being pulled when stuck as in recovery points.

Welcome and you forgot rear isolators with the lift up front and no extra rear iso's it will look like and old school hot rod. So 2 extra up top and one extra on the bottom and with will even out nicely. And sounds nice and no pictures it didn't happen.

If you go with the Franky you wont need iso's till it settles. I am just now adding some to the rear and thats because of the tire clearence I need with my 31's getting stuffed... :D

Thanx, guys I just ordered the teraflex bumpstops for up front yesterday. I'm gonna go with the peace of mind on that issue. I'll add the isolators later when it's time and I'll get some pix up soon of the before and after.
