Are you still making payments too? After having the dealerships cause this with incompetence and bad advice... If your bank won't pursue this because it involves THEIR investment too... If it were me I would tell them which dealer has it and walk away.

pre-existing damage? That is a load of horse pucky and they know it. Any dealer work is supposed to be guaranteed for 12 months or 12k miles, and good with any other dealer licensed by the same manufacturer. Your bank should be on YOUR side on this, not telling you to stick it. Ditto for your insurance company, but I never expect any good service from the insurance industry and I am never disappointed.

Bottom line, I think you need a lawyer on this. They need to PROVE that it was "pre-existing" damage if they want to deny fixing their own screwups from the timing belt install, which could easily damage internal components of the engine. Telling you that you could drive AT ALL with a blown turbo seal is completely bad advice, but unless that was in writing you may not have much recourse on that one.

Step us through it again, and maybe there are more points of contention to lean on Chrysler about this. They need to make their dealers live up to the standards of service if they expect ANYONE to use them for that service. Otherwise, what's the point?

Being one tooth off on the timing belt will not cause engine damage even in a interference engine, the most that it will do is effect some of the performance. The blown engine can not be blamed on the TB issue, and unless you have in writting that a blown turbo seal was okay to drive with then your SOL there also,it's your word against theres and they have better lawyers.Common sense should have kicked in if they did tell you it was okay to drive it with a blown turbo seal, but I guess common sense is severely lacking these days.

Oh and the bank could not care less about the vehicle,as long as they get there $$$ they could care less, same with the insurance company.

I had a 2000 Celica GTS that had engine failure twice in one month. The first time, they replaced the bottom half of the engine and fixed it under warranty which they fought and billed Toyota $7500. Two weeks later the engine grenaded again and this time, the top half needed to be replaced (I was pretty sure it was due to them effing up) and they blamed my CAI which they said ingested water into the engine (during a drought).

GEICO paid the 2nd $7500 bill.

Common sense told me to take it to the dealer to have them check the engine, I got a $75 bill for that. Had the dealer told me it was not a good idea to drive it, I would have stayed in Waynesville in a hotel, ordered a new turbo and then been on my way once it was installed.

On a side note I am really starting to dislike you and your poopy attitude everytime you post something in this forum. I will call you out and take a week being banned on this website to do just that, call you on your non-productive poopy comments on any post you can post on.

But common sense did not think.................

"hey leaking oil seal in turbo, bad idea for engine oil supply"

I don't sugercoat stuff, tell it as it is,been in the industry for going on 15 years now, from the dealership, military, and independant shops so I do know what tends to go on.

Oh and if you want a ringer I call you out on any shop(let alone a dealership) saying it would be okay to drive with a leaking oil seal in a turbo, you needed a scapegoat and made one up is what sounds more like the truth so you did look like a complete moron. No one that has worked in the industry for more then 6 months can tell you you do not drive with a bad oil seal in a turbo.
