Is the TPM system accurate on the EVIC, since the MPG is not. My EVIC showed -- on the diagram for the driver side back tire. What does this mean? The -- resumed to a number within a couple of hours of driving. Does the tire pressure sensor need to be repaired or replaced?

Perhaps just a hiccup in the system. It will show -- while it is trying to get a reading, especially after you just crank up on freshly inflated tires. So long as it's working now, I wouldn't worry about it.

As for accuracy, you could always cross check the EVIC #s against a manual gauge.

I don't rely on it to replace a pressure gauge but have found my 2005 EVIC pressure readings to be very accurate but best check yours against a gauge to be sure.

They work in a range very well. You must have raised the tire pressure by driving it and warming it, thus increasing the pressure temporarily. You should just check the air in all of them at this point.

I never knew the evic displayed the tire pressures. I dont think mine ever has when I have aired down for off road. it just told me low tire pressure. Also sometimes mine seems to say I need to check the TPM system then the warning goes away after a few miles or 5-10 minutes of off road driving not to be seen again for months.

I always check mine with a gauge the TPM system is not to replace doing it that way its a way to alert you or the average driver of a tire issue if you are too busy or too dumb to realize there is a problem before a tire blows out and you die in a horrable crash.

I took it to Firestone on Sunday and had them air up the tires. The tire pressure using my manual gauge is the same reading as the gauge at the Firestone. The EVIC is off about 4-5 pounds. I do not depend on the EVIC's readings but I look at it often for low tire pressure or no pressure.

The first KJ I had(rolled)-had just the indication of low pressure in one of the tires. I had to figure out which tire had low pressure. This KJ tells each tire pressure amount.
