I thought moabs only came in 16 inch sizes... but I found a guy seeliing a set locally that says they are 17... what should I do! 17 inch wheels cause problems I hear :? here is the add...

Set of five stock 17" Rubicon Wheels and BF Goodrich MTs. Less than 2k miles on 4, no miles on 5th (still has whiskers on tread). Had them on my Jeep for just over a month before I replaced them with custom wheel setup. These tires/wheels have never been off road. Three of the wheels have scuffs on the face of the wheel due to movers. Thought about painting or powder coating to get more value, but I don't have the time to do it right now. The tires alone are $180 a piece, so I am really just trying to get value for the tires and throwing in the wheels. Can provide more pics if needed.

Jeep, JK, JKU, MOAB, Wrangler, 255/75R17, Mud Terrains, 5x5

the moabs you need are 16x8 w/5" backspacing and 5x4.5 bolt pattern. they come off a tj wrangler. the ones he has listed are for a jk wrangler and are the incorrect bolt pattern.

Which is also why the 17" Moabs sell for peanuts on eBay every day. People can't hardly give them away, because the only two Jeeps they'll fit are the JK and the WJ.

I also found a set that are 16x7 5x4.5 and 4 backspacing... would these be abetter choice? I am mounting my stock tires for now... should I go with these? and if I do will I be able to find good tires later to fit?

Stock height right?
You'll have rubbing with an 8 inch wheel or the one with 4 inches of back spacing. 4 inches of back spacing works great lifted but if not it will sit the tire/wheel combo out enough to cause more rub at the front and rear of the wheelwell.
Stock height stay as close to possible to stock size
