Stuck bad! Flooded inside...

Lifted and locked Tacoma on 33s and lifted v8 GC to get me out.

I've got the driver seat out and the carpet pulled back to shot vac out water. The foam under the carpet has gallons of water in it!

I was in a similar situation a couple weeks ago.
But, I just took my carpet out, hosed it off, and threw it in the garage.
But I can do that. :-)r

I just recommend vacuuming out all the water you can and let it sit with the windows cracked or down to let it air out and dry. Maybe take a heat gun or a blow dryer to it for a while?

I've shot vacd so much water out already and the carpet is still like a wet sponge. I thought the carpet would be thin like my wranglers but it's like an inch thick with foam. I took out the driver seat and pulled up the carpet. Now I have a small fan blowing on the underside of it. It's just in the garage with all the doors and windows open. Hopefully by tomorrow it will be better.

Funny I kept some carpet and vinyl interior links in my favorites as a future project - still have pretty bad salt, mud and water stains in the 02 and had an AC evap leak on passenger side for a couple years till I finally had the system cleaned at the gunked up tube...

These guys were the only place I found that sold not just replacement molded carpets (and in a cool future project color?) but also a molded vinyl for more durability:

Looks like if your the front rots out (or looks like mine) you can just replace the passenger area for cheaper.

If I get an excuse to run cabling and such next year and pull up the carpet I'll probably try to get a friend at a detailing place to help me put in a vinyl kit.

Just an idea...

(also might want to leave a camping dessicant bag or a big double paper bag of calcium chloride in the jeep - will soak up a lot of moisture)

getting water out of the padding is never a fun task. sometimes it's not even possible. I have no idea how big it actually is but would it fit in one of the big dryers at a laundry mat?

I have a car that flooded a couple times due to a leak and even with running a hair dryer in it for 3 days and the windows barely cracked I still wound up with some seriously disgusting mold in the padding when I finally replaced it many years later.

been there done that ... what i did to clean the carpet was take it out sprayed it down and soaked it down with clean water then let is sit and dry on some saw horses for a few days to let it dry

Yup, been there. Best thing is to pull the carpet and get everything dry. Otherwise it will come back to haunt you this summer when things start to bake and grow under the carpet.

This is why I'm tearing the carpet out and putting down viynl

i have had thoughts about cutting up the carpet so one can take it out without having to take out the seats and stuff

These tires suckk! I was trying to decide if I wanted to lift it or not before I got tires but now I think I'm set on no lift for now. I'll probably just get a set of 235/70 bfg t/a. Everything is dried out now

Oh yeah and you guessed it, I live down south!
