Fiat to buy Penske shares of VM Motori.

http://news.google.com/news/story?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&q=diesel&ncl=dmsDYWsU29FBz_MK180jH0Y532FtM

I wander if this will make buying parts any easier? Could this mean we might see more Chrysler diesels with VM Motori engines? This puts GM & Fiat in control of VM Motori. I just wish they would offer all of there diesels in the USA. We need to get the EPA out of the way. The expensive emission system is what is keeping them out, and when the price of those parts come down, I hope we will see them in all models.

What's really needed is one world wide set of emmission standards  So CARB with your mail order scientists , kiss up to the EURO 5
That would help ALL THE WORLD'S AUTOMAKERS :JEEPIN:

As I recall GM originally bought in for the V6 to power the CTS in Europe to compete with other high end cars :ROTFL:
And their Daewoo brand also uses VM engines.

I'm affraid untill California becomes their own bankrupt country and the rest of the US is free of CARB there will be very few if any new diesels released here.
But both are possible :-)r

As fuel prices rise to the euro standard, diesels could make a come back. EPA probably holds the answer. Unfortunately.

The Acid Head Hippies in the EPA and CARB need to have their wings clipped.
They have gone on a wacko mission using false science and fraud that is beyond doing anything for the Environment.
Lets hope the U S Supreme Court cuts their power and Congress cuts their funding.

As I'm sure everyone knows, the 2.9L engine is not going to production and a very close cousin (the 3.0L) is powering the new Grand Cherokee and 300.
However, to ease everyone's worries, the t-stat housing is held on with 2 bolts like a "normal engine"...all you need is an o-ring for servicing.
