The M1-301 or any PH8 variant will work fine. Quality of different filters brands is the only issue.

I will agree that Amsoil sould be a great product and I honestly would use it but there are 2 reasons I don't . 1 It's not something I can just go buy as easy and for a competive price like Rotella. 2 I dont feel ok leaving it in 12,000 miles which I would need to to break even on the price compaired to Rotella. I do you the Amsoil air filter and think that is a great prouct.

If you choose to use and change your oil with different product than me I respect that. Oil anaylis shows my engine is doing well on the Rotella and I can incress the time to 8000 between changes if I want.

I just picked up 5 qts of 5w40 truck and turbo diesel and a Mobil 1 M1 301 filter from Advance auto parts for $ 32.99 the price used to be $26.99. I guess we are getting some of that imaginary inflation.
