Thanks for the kind words.

I did a little more over the weekend.
Got the original door parts intstalled, now the key and remote unlock is in line. That is tight working quarters inside the door cavity, trying to find the little clips that hold the levers and windows in place, required much patience.

Image

I've had the rear door ready for paint for a couple of weeks, finally got the paint on that. the tape reidue starts to become a problem.

Image

Image

rear shot. the Currie anti-rock really rocks, wow what a difference.

Image

Front shot. Did not get the power steering hoses finished. Had to order more parts. Imagine that. LOL. $100 here $100 there, wow it adds up to a ton.

Image

I have the front drive shaft dropped off at the local driveline shop to be lengthened.
Rancho shocks are on the way.
And then start the rollbar, and front and rear bumper.
And then i can put the interior back in.
And then I can ............

Got the small parts in, during the week. Drive shaft was finished on tuesday.
One problem I had was my son had his 65 dodge propped up on stands and I couldn't exit the shop to test drive the CRD. I had him up early this morning putting wheel hubs on his truck to move it to the other side of the shop.
Image

First road test.

Image

Its pretty flat where we live so Ethan did the fork test.

Image

Image

Then he went back to his project of fitting discs brakes on a 45 year old truck.

Image

I started the rollbar in the liberty.

Image
Image

I 've also started the rear bumper/tire carrier.

Later.

Man that is awesome buddy. Turned out way better than are CRD did.

Hopefully when we swap the fw's in here soon, it will look as nice.

I like your bumper build.
Thats the look I'm looking for. A good solid pulling point and lite weight.

The CRD drove good down the the street, the speedo doesn't work but went to fourth gear maybe 35 mph. Good smooth ride, the antirock and rancho rs shocks keep it from being a slinky. Steering is very easy and smooth, no binding or bumping on the smooth surface. I had to run the radiator hose up above the fan shroud instead of below, therfore i have to bleed the air out of the system. I've now ordered a sight window with a bleeder valve to hopefully solve a overheating problem.

Thanks for your interest.

Thanks man!!

Are you going to use coilover shocks or coil springs?
I didn't have my wheels and tires when I built the coil mount perch on the front axle, if I had known what i was using I could have moved my mount over 1 more inch. I din't want to crowd the tire hitting the spring in a flex situation, but now I know.

8) Thank you very much. It may be for sale soon as it has grown on me and gotten a bit stale. I want to change it up some or just make an entirely new one. It does do the job nicely though.
Good luck with working out the kinks in your SFA build. It's great to see people that think out side of the box make it happen. :JEEPIN:

Can you show me a pick of you radiator relocation. Ive been thinking about doing this

Have you decided on what you are going to do with the speedo. I should be having are speedo issue fixed. Btw what till you need to find how to kill the abs lol. I've still have not figured it out yet. how is the rear 4-link working? How does the flipped steering work? how far over did you go with your trackbar mount?

I know a lot of questions lol.

Oh and without getting the speedo fixed good luck getting the CRD above 55mph.

Actually I didn't move the radiator I just relocated the hose that went across the bottom.

Image

I cut the u-shaped stock hose and added couplings to alter the hose.

Image

As for the speedo I'll probably do the rocktrac with a speedo port on the tailshaft.
I was watching XTREME 4x4 on Sunday and he was addressing that same problem but it didn't show anything. he made the coment that they were getting a part machined. LOL. TV shows don't know what a budget build is. What fix are you using on the speedo?

The ABS don't know yet. I took out the 2 fuses but thats all.

Rear triangulated 4 link seems to do good. no tracbar for that.

Image

I'm not sure what you meant by flipped steering, I have used a stock ford box and stock arms on the axle. I did have the passenger side knuckle machined for a Parts Mike long arm. I also used a stock pitman arm with no drop.

Image

Image

Image

In full drop and full compess with the front suspension, the front driveshaft has no movement in the slip yoke.

passenger side motor mount.

Image

Driver side motor mount.

The Trac bar is as wide as the unibody frame. I still have to make bumpstops for front and rear just waiting till I get all the heavy junk back in.
