Does any one know if my 06 Sport would be eligible for the F37 TC and Pump replacement? It is 5 years old and has an F31 sticker under the hood. The 8th number in the Vin is a 5 and it has a build date of 05-06. Do I have to make the TC rattle in order to qualify? As far as I can tell 11000+ vehicles qualify.

Go to Jeep.com and under the owners section type in the last 8 digits of the VIN - if it shows F37 outstanding - you're 'eligible' - if not - no

and it might cost a little more - but a new 'Euro' torque converter + pump and GDE tranny tune - will work wonders.

I believe that most of the 06s did NOT get a TC under the F37. Hope I'm wrong in your case. Give it a try.

Please understand when talking about F37 that ONLY CRD's produced before NOVEMBER 2005 (that means all 05's and early 06's) automatically got the TC and then only those that made a certain noise the mechanic could hear that indicated the TC was already failing got the front pump that was by that time the newer version. The front pumps were getting distroyed by debris from the earlier design TC that was prone to early failure. They also put in a new transmission/AC condenser combined cooler at the same time. Your May 06 CRD came with the TC the pre 11/05 ones got under the F37 bulliten.

Since yours was made in May of 06 all you got was the SH@$% I mean flash to both the TCM and ECM


Since yours has a F37 sticker unless you have some kind of remaining warranty and can demonistrate a problem to your dealer you've gotten all your going to get.
I have a Chrysler 7/70 extended warranty and my January 06 TC exhibeted problems from the get go and when the TC was finally replaced it's common pratice to replace the main shaft seal that's not available for the older pump so a new pump is required.

Also remember a NY judge determined that "new car company" was not responsible for "old car companies" problems

If getting any warranty or other Goodwill out of Chrysler fails and it is your baby.
The Transgo pump fix is cheaper than the new pump.
As we all now know, no torque converter can work properly with a bad front pump.
Since you have to remove the valve body to pop out the plate to get to the pump, unless you have some other means not commonly used like a big super powerful rare earth magnet or super suction cups. You might as well put the rest of the Transgo kit into the valve body but toss the resistor.

I am in no big rush to do any thing, it does an intermittent stall in reverse, it happens about 5 feet backing out of the garage, after you drive over a small concrete ledge. It may be a wire broken or rubbed through, I have to disconnect the harness on a nice day and take a good look at it. If I could get a freeby TC and pump out of DC that would be a bonus.

But then again like you say, it could be a leaky valve?

I have the F31 sticker, no F37?
The F37 PDF that you sent me a while ago back says, "a 5 in the 8th digit of the vin, and built through Nov 2, 2006" So that is the confusing part of this.

I believe the 5 in the 8th position indicates it's a CRD
