The jeep being lifted around 4" is just not working out.

After three fork redesigns with my input, pictures, measuremnts and suggestions finally the fork does not hit the boot!

If its not the parts of the lift that are the issue. It is that the height of the lift is putting too much strain on other parts. My drive shaft, half shaft and steering links are just too short.

My kk while driving on the highway or at least driving over 40 MPH if I slightly (slightly) turn the steering wheel to the right (passenger side) I get a humming sound and slight vibration in the steering wheel. Sound can be heard by people outside of jeep very very clearly! Maybe the bearings?

If I put the jeep in auto 4wd and start from 0 MPH and speed up with some force there is knocking ( like a blow out tire feel) some joint must be worn and causing this sound and knocking!

I thought I was already to be back out offroading with the latest fork being a slick design, but this knocking is really bad when put I to low 4.

Not sure what to do the jeep dealership had my jeep for two days. And could not tell me that anything was broken! They just told me to stop the sounds to lower the jeep. They consultant with Chrysler took measurements of the lift, angles of the CV joints and pictures and sent them to them and they are all way outside the range! They stated anything over a 2" lift would be outside the range and if anything was broken or brakes due to this it would not be covered by warranty. They suggested to lower the jeep before this happens.

What is really needed is someone needs to come up with a front diferential drop to get the angles less. And longer half shafts and drive trains might be still needed or hopefully not!

What kind of lift kit are you trying to use?
You mention a cradle drop but that opens another can of worms that you don't even want to open.
Need someone that actually knows something about IFS systems to look at it instaed of taking it to the dealership, last place I would ever take one.
Are you just trying to lift it entirely by the" fork"

I have the Jeep in by Al (JBA) 4" lift with the upper control arms and disconnects. The front measures from center of wheel to fender about 22.25"

Man after looking at your pics you've been through it for sure, nasty looking. I guess I keep thinking of KJs and with them sitting at 22 inches there is no problems at all, even a pretty mild lift for them.
How much difference is there between the stock clevis and the latest one? Length etc?

Throw the disco's away, one issue solved.Next is limit droop or put OEM clevis back on(guessing you can't).Another issue is your alignment, even if your alignment is "in spec" does not mean it's really in for your lift, ran into that one to many times and takes alot of work and a very skilled tech as they may have to move the cradle to achieve max clearance.

your hum sound while turning and the knocking is most likely due to your cv's that were damaged due to too much droop in the suspention (not too much lift). to check that just put your jeep on blocks and try to turn the wheels by hand. if you cant or if its difficult then you have too much droop. i had my 3.5" lift for about 65k miles now and still runing fine.

I did not measure this one but the last one was no different never understood why, the lift comes all from the coilovers.

Been told that the JBA system limits the droop by two people. Also I am sitting at very high, well for sure was too high. :banghead: I have 38,000 miles.

What is the height measurement of a stock kk from center of wheel to fender. Mine is at 22.25 to 22.5"

Droped the truck between 5/8" and 7/8" and the sounds seems to have gotten better. My new measurements are 22-5/8"
