Just picked my 06 CRD from the shop after having the injectors changed. I noticed a small exaust leak noise coming from the engine. Its not terribly loud, just kind of a "putt, putt, putt" when at idle, and louder as you drive, Anyone know what this might be?

I know there is a crush washer and an O ring that's associated with installing the injectors. Best bet is one or the other or both are not installed or one injector was not tightened correctly.

You should be able to look where the injectors go into the cylinder head and maybe see some tell tail sign. You could also spray something like WD-40 around them to tell for sure.

if you are going to remove the injectors i would probably replace copper crush washers and the orange o rings on them if they were already tightened to specified torque.

Make the shop that replaced the injectors fix the injector leak. It is their fault, no excuse.

Yep. #4 injector is leaking. Thanks. Guess I'll take it back to the shop.
