So I went to Rausch Creek this weekend and had a great off road trip except I came home with some dash lights. The ESP BAS light is on and so is the light that comes on when you lose traction. I had my esp fuse pulled but ive done it in thr past with no issues. I tried the old disconnect the battery trick with no luck. No codes came up with my scan guage, is there any way to pull codes incase its not working correctly. I think it may be an issue related to my alignment though as my steering wheel needs to be 20 degrees to the right in order for my wheels to be straight. Is it possible thats the problem. As Digger suggested it may be a wheel sensor thats gone bad. Does that seem like it could be the issue? .... Also I kno clock spring issues could result in the esp bas light n brake light being on, could that be the issue? The only thing I can think of is that I was going up a hill n hit a little ditch pretty hard that stopped my in my tracks. Any help or suggestions anyone can offer will be helpful. I want to get this fixed up. Thanks!

I had all those lights when my rack and pinion was bad.
After it was replaced, they didn't reset the computer, after driving for a bit, they went away.

Hopefully it just needs an alignment.

I had those lights a few times, both as I recall were wheel sensors. Do you have a code reader?

my scan guage didnt pick up any code but it may be my scan guage cause i should deff throw a code when i pull my ESP fuse and it didnt. I'll bring it to pep boys tomorrow fast before school!... hopeing for a wheel sensor issue. if not the alignment... dean was the rack and pinion issue after the dukes of hazard moment?

I had the same lights come on a few weeks ago. The ESP/BAS and the traction control both lit up with a single chime, when i was driving down a wet paved road and there was no loss of traction. After I shut the jeep off and restarted it, the lights were gone. Had the dealer check it out - it returned code C2205 for Steering Angle Sensor. Mine turned out that there was nothing wrong with it, but at least I had the issue documented before my warranty is up...hope this helps.

You wont be able to read any ABS/ESP codes with a scan gauge or the like. You need the dealer equipment to read those..............so I am told :2cents:

i might hit up the local pepboys.... hopefully i can figure it out... steering is tight i dont have any play in the wheel. Only thing is the wheel is not straight for wheels to be straight. esp kicks in fairly easy when first started up and then throws on this light which makes me think it's an alignment issue....

your steering 20 deg off is the cause of your lights since the esp constantly read the position of the steering wheel and can tell if the jeep actually turns or not. get the alignment done then do the battery trick and it should be fine

X2..............

The computer thinks your turning for a extended period of time and does not like that and tries to correct.

take off the negative, wait 10 minutes... and put it back on.... basically a hard reset on your truck's computer
