OK... *sigh* did some work on my jeep the other week, placed 1/2 bottle of gear oil in my "car blood" bucket. Well someone that rhymes with "my knife" decided she had to use the bucket and took all the internal jeep fluids out and put them in the rear cargo area. Well, massive spillage occured, it drained down to the rear passenger area. I was able to clean up the oil that drained down but the carpet in the cargo area was toast.

SO now the question, what would you do?

1. cut a piece of sheet to fit the rear cargo area, tack it in place & then bedline it.

2. relocate the wires somehow that run through the back, scrape, sand & bedline the bare metal.

3. buy a new rear carpet thingy.

I'm leaning twoard #1, do you think 1/8th in. would be too thin? or should I go 3/16th?

DIGGERIZE IT

A piece of 36 grit will do wonders on a air sander

Oh man that stinks, for real! I would peel out the carpet clean and clean again then rubberize or Diggerize  the entire floor. I have seen and used some industrial rubber floor stuff, sorry don't remember the name of the stuff, but I always thought if something happened to my carpet or when it wears out I would do that.

The PO spilled some quikrete in the back of my KJ and never cleaned it up so the carpet was toast.. I got a 8'x12'? piece of gray carpet for about $15 and cut it to fit and i think its looks great and i do not care too much if anything happens to it.
I will get you some pictures for an idea!
Edit:
Sorry its dark but here a picture of it:

You can see some of the quikrete still on the trim.
