Just bought my dads 06 crd. Called suncoast the other day and ordered a new TC.

Any ball park figures on how much a TC install will cost? Any ideal places to get it done in central IL??

Thanks

Do it yourself it is free otherwise you are looking from 400 to 700 otherwise. But good start on the CRD replace one of the weakest link first. And welcome to lost read the newbie guide http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=54207

I was planning on doing mine to save money, and I REREAD for the 3rd time GDE's hints, and I agree it's doable (I'll have to buy a few more tools, but less than 400 bucks for sure!)

Measured the height to be 21 and 1/4 all the way around. You guys think i'll be okay if i do a JBA 1/4 up front with a 2 or 3 ring clevis and one or two iso's in the rear?

Used that flash box and instructions and installed Green Diesel ECO tune enhancement ....
Drove it now for a few days and WOW!... Enhanced performance galore!!
Will report new mileage results soon as soon as I get my foot out of the go pedal

GDE has several levels and I got the most mild ===ECO Tune=== for the Jeep. Full Torque level is next followed by the Hot Tune then one that involves the turbocharger. The cost makes this a big leap.
I got the Metal Glow Plug update in on the motor now and it requires a flash to the ECU. The GDE tune included the GP ECU flash and I get the tune too. Justification for the cost of the tune as I explained to the wife

Let me know when you are doing it, if it is going to be this summer and I can come down and lend a hand. I want to do mine as well so I would like to learn how to do it.

I got the new suspension link put in Libby, took the spare tire mount off her, and I even got her grill painted. I painted black right over the chrome, soon the black will start to flake and chip off; that's exactly the effect I want! This is why I had to replace Libbys parts, it's not supposed to move like that :ROTFL:

Here's a pic of her new grill :goink:

Right now I'm working on replacing
front lower ball joints and trans go
shift kit and filters.
Ball joints are a complete PITA.
Tranny not so bad. Gotta get it all
done before I go to bed tonight.

I changed the GDE 'economy tune' TCM to the 'towing tune' TCM. Not really sure what suits my needs. My advice is not to change things unless you're absolutely sure what you want. . . and what you're getting.

Finished the ball joints and shift kit last night.
Had to make a midnight run to walmart for
grease gun and grease. Almost forgot to lube
the ball joints.
Again, ball joints were a total pain.
Anybody have trouble getting them to go in
straight?
Tranny works great. Didnt install resistor. Can't
say I notice a huge difference in shifting but
overall the jeep drives a heck of a lot better.

Took the Limited to Jiffy Wash for an inside and out detail. They did a great job, I told the guy that brought me my Jeep that is looked like new. :D

I installed my inline tstat last week, and finally finished my Rock Lizard Super Skink Sliders. A right angle drill made it real easy, I didn't use a template. Oh, and an Oil change, and top off the power steering fluid.

Installed my SAMCO black hoses today with boostcontroller.com t-clamps. And finally put on hockey puck bump stops and new OME 132l shocks (blew out my bilsteins because I was too lazy to put bump stops the first time)
