I love my kj, a little pissed that I'm gonna have to address the aluminum front diff at some point...but I love it nonetheless.

I think you are worrying about something that you really don't have to be. Now if you are a stand on the loud pedal driver maybe, but the front diff holds up fairly well unless you get to bouncing and spinning and it catches.
Take the KJ out and enjoy it
and don't think I'll have to replace this or that

Why hasn't anyone make urethane bushings to replace the soft rubber diff mounts? That would seem a lot easier and cheaper than creating a steel front diff, and if the diff couldn't move all over the place under load, it might not crack as easy.

 What ?
Mounts have nothing (or very little to do) with the front diff breaking.
It happens at times just like a 30-35-44 etc breaks sometimes

Hey, it just seemed like if the diff can move around so easily it might have something to do with them cracking. Why wouldn't it be stronger if it was more securely mounted?

It's actually the other way around.Securely mounted means it must flex at it's weak points.

That makes sense, but I'd think it would depend on the severety of how soft/hard it's mounted. Totally hard mounted = bad, marshmellow soft = bad too. Eh it was just a thought. What a pain it is to try and get a lib on the trail w/ sort-of large tires :P Reckon I'm just gonna use mine to to hit the malls and tow the cj.

Not a pain at all to get a KJ out on the trails, well unless you have a built point and shoot Jeep sitting in the driveway. But I find the KJ is more of a challenge than what I used to wheel which makes it more fun.
