I was about to order the euro TC from moparpartsonline. I ordered it as 68037142aa and I got an email from them saying the new part number is: RL037142AA because it is now re manufactured and has a $100 core charge. Has anyone ordered this reman'd TC? Has anyone put a lot of miles on their reman'd Euro TC?

I bought one, have yet to install it... Looks good, but obviously rebuilt (there was even some fluid inside when I got it :?: ) but like GDE said, most TC are rebuilt, Suncoast included....

The "brand new" "euro" TC I bought 2 years ago came with a very rusty housing. I think they have simply added a core charge to increase profit.

We have 40K miles of use on our's without problems, so far. Whole time has been with GDE HOT tune and 10K of that was towing a 5K trailer. GDE TCM has been installed for over a year. Tow tune has just been in for a month. (Just allows more use of 4rth gear.)

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and ordered it. I hope it is as good as the "New" Euro TC. My Jeep shudders at 52-56MPH with the HOT tune and stalls during my first or second stop when the engine is cold from time to time. The converter just doesn't unlock when I come to a stop, like I forgot to put in the clutch when I roll to a stop.

Here are some pics of the "rebuilt" unit. Looks pretty shiny. No surface rust. I'm going to try and get this installed in the next 3-4 weeks. Got to find a solid block of time in my busy schedule. I hope I can bang it out in a weekend. I also got the Transgo Shift kit, I plan to put in at the same time. Valve body and front pump parts. I think I will skip installing the big snap ring. I hope this fixes my problem.

Be sure to loctite the bolts as some who have not done so have had them back out. Don't know what color loctite has been used though. I'm sure someone can recommend on that.

Thanks for the tip papaindigo. I've got some blue loctite just for those 4 little bolts.

Oh, and there is an O ring to reuse from the old one... I still have mine sitting in the garage, I need to buy a new Torque Wrench for the 200 IN/lbs. Any tips after the install would be great

Use your standard torque wrench:
200 in-lbs = 16.66 ft-lbs

I have a 1/2" drive, I think the lowest it goes is 10 FT/lbs, and it's a Harbor Freight, so I don't exactly trust it to do the 16 FT/lbs

or I am just lazy... :)

Many inexpensive torque wrenches are way off the mark. I can't say if this is true for the Harbor Freight model though. Maybe you should get the other to be sure.

I still would just use my 1/2 inch drive torque wrench because I trust it.
Mine can be checked with known weights and calibrated with a set screw.
