Any of the Optima line is a huge waste of money anymore. Its a shame they used to have a great product.

I optima that came stock in my CRD hardly lasted much more than 3 years. I replaced it in Nov. 09 and my CRD is an 06. Advance Auto Parts showed a red top the best replacement for it but at $169 + taxes and fees with only a 3 year pro-rate warranty I just got one of the standard type GOLD line batteries for about $105 total out the door. The gold battery came with 36 month free replacement and 72 month pro-rated warranty, same CCA as the optima too. The Optima battery seems cool and all but it's not as good a in years past before Jonson controls bought them out or a good value either.

That is my :2cents:

also not sure what battery the gasser takes the CRD is supposed to have a group 34R (reversed terminals) but a group 34 installed backwards fits great in my CRD.

darn, that sucks about optimas, they used to rock!! my yellow top still works.....for now!!

I've had pretty good luck with autozone batteries, I forget the exact name but the better of their two series with a yellow top (black body). I've abused them, left them sitting in vehicles with electrical drains and then just traded them in no questions asked.....pretty convenient.
