Might be a deal if the timing belt has been done especially if the 4 wheel problem is just the, not uncommon, shifter linkage clip failure that can be fixed with an Ace Hardware Stainless Steel 1/4" Axle Snap Nut for ca. $0.50. I'd also wonder if a simple GDE tune would fix the EGR issue.

Another MEH.

The prices have come way down on our little things, for as much work as these posted need they need to be cheaper by quite a bit for them to be worthwhile.

Otherwise for just a few thousand more you can find one that doesn't need anything and is ready to go.

warp2diesel - I'd have credited you if I'd been bright enough to associate your name with the copy I saved in my CRD hints folder. Sorry about the oversight.

Hello all,

I am looking at possibly buying a 2006 Liberty CRD, and I wanted to get some input from some owners on here. There is one in my area that is a few hundred miles shy of 100K miles. It seems to be in good shape. Carfax has an accident reported for it although there is no report of structural/frame damage so I guess it wasn't serious. The A/C compressor, drive belt/tensioner, and torque convertor were replaced at around 56K Miles at the end of 2008. It was serviced and the fuel filter was replaced before being listed for sale. It doesn't say anything about a new timing belt, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it wasn't replaced, although I don't know for sure yet. It's listed for just under 12K at the dealer. Is this about the going rate for a CRD? I am trying to learn more about these. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
