I changed my egr valve myself and after that I got egr related
faults, so I took the liberty to flash, they flashed PCM with 56044562CF, then I drove 150 miles on freeway, it ran much smoother than before. i could go 60mph
with 1600rpm, i could feel the smoothness. then the next day I got a
fault P0672, not sure why maybe the new PCM
delivering 5v instead of 7v.

so I took it to dealer, the dealer came back saying the#2 glow plug is bad, recommended me to upgrade the GP kit 68090434AA, so they did, also they flashed with new PCM 68090471AA. is this the right pcm version? I feel they flashed with some wrong version. now the car runs in higher rpm 1900rpm at 60mph. it's not smooth anymore. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks. I googled 68090471AA, I could not find anything about this PCM version.

From the RPM/MPH numbers you've given it looks to me like your CRD excaped the dreaded F37 reflashes most recieved in late 2006 or early 2007 and they caught up to you with the latest flash :grim:
Pre F37 the transmission shifted into 5th at 59 MPH and with the F37 flashes it shifts into 5th at 64 MPH. Also all other gears shift 5mph later and they reduced engine torque from 300 foot pounds to 261 foot pounds. Dealers have no way of putting the old flashes back into both your TCM (transmission control module) and ECM (engine control module).
With the later shifting your fuel consumption will go up 3 to 4 mpg depending on what speed you mostly drive and you'll have less power going up hills or pulling a trailer.

The only way "back" is to get your tcm and ECM flashed by a company like GDE.

Sorry :dead:

X2 on the GDE TCM flash and if you don't have it their ECM tunes. That said for transmissions operating with the F37 flash you need to bring your speed up to ca. 62-64 mph; you will feel and see on the tach the final shift into overdrive and locked up; then you can reduce your speed to 60 mph at ca. 1600 rpm while staying in the same shift point which will preserve your current mpg at that speed. It's a pain as stoutdog can tell you but essentially the F37 raised the mph of that final shift AND the speed at which you drop back a gear. If I recall once you've passed that final shift point as long as you stay above about 57 mph you will stay in top gear.

The GDE TCM tune restores the per F37 shift mph AND adds lockup in lower gears and other enhancements. See http://www.greendieselengineering.com/f ... st/89.page

I've had 2 CRDs, lost one when a dump truck failed to stop at a red light when I did (very interesting being rear ended by something of that size filled with 9yds of gravel). Pre and post F37 both got about 18mpg in town (10 mile one-way commute top speed 45mph) and ca. 27-28 hwy (running a steady 62 mph at ca. 1,800rpm). Post GED TCM and EcoTune I'm getting 22-24mpg (higher end with viscous heater unplugged) in town and 31-33mpg hwy (32 mpg on a 2,000 mile trip with a bad tstat on the last tank or so) in the same circumstances. I do drive with a light foot so these #s may be relatively high compaired to those that drive faster especially on the hwy.

All mpgs hand calculated and GPS corrected, no EVIC figures although the latest update to the EcoTune has my EVIC "closer" to correct.

I just got my CRD, and it seems that I have been F37'd afterall. :x I looked through the paperwork and records given to me by the dealership, and the printout from Chrysler that shows what recalls were done... the only computer related one was the old F21 recall back in 06 or so. My final lockup occurs at about 64mph, and if I drop the speed down to 60 or 61, it stays in lockup at a lower gear. Does this sound like the F37 was done to it? When my 05 was F37'd. it was gutless, this one seems to have more power than that one did, but it was a few years ago that I sold the 05, so I cannot say for sure. I know it'll lay some rubber down if I lay on it, haha. I am going to get the GDE tune when I have a few extra bucks. My GP's are OK for now, but when they go, I want to be ready. Can GDE reflash the computer for the glow plug update only? Thanks!

Pre-F37 5th gear lockup ca. 58mph; post-F37 5th gear lockup ca. 63mph; should be able to hold lockup ca. 53 and 58mph respectively. Post GDE TCM tune 5th geal lock up ca. 58mph and will hold down to ca. 52mph; that's with their "eco" TCM tune. They have a tow tune but you would have to look on their forum for specs.

GDE tunes can be updated to accomidate the new glow plugs but as far as I know they don't have just a GP update to a stock ECU. Don't see why they would as Jeep has that.

Have you cleaned your map sensor recently?
