I don't use my CRD for towing much and want to sell the GDE TCM tune i got from Keith, which works well and saves on fuel and if you plan to use your vehicle for towing but I don't and want to return back to stock, fuel economy isn't an issue for me since I use biodiesel.

I Had GDE reprogram an extra TCM I procured.

I will sell the GDE TCM tune for $240.00 (GDE TCM is $300.00 new), and the module for $150.00, I paid $185.00

$390.00 total, plus shipping.

Contact me if you have any interest.

Some interest here, but are you saying it has the TOWING tune programmed? They have two tunes for the TCM now right?

I received the GDE TCM tune in March of this year and if the option existed I didn't realize it. But I got mine for fuel savings even though it works great for towing

While the upgrade deal officially applies only to "original" owners, I would not be surprised if Keith will upgrade to the latest version known as the "tow tune" on this one for $25. Alternatively, the current owner can send to GDE and have them forward to new owner.

Is the module the actual TCM box that is tuned is what you're selling?

A little explanation please. Ive been wanting to get the transmission tune so that my shift points are pre F37. Is this that GDE trans tune?

NO this is a post F37 TCM and it has been modified by GDE specifically to shift sooner and stay locked up, designed for towing and MPG gain while towing.

have you read up on GDE's posts? It's perfect for not towing, (but they do offer a towing version if you change your mind later on)

Thanks for your patience. What is the module for?

Can I buy it without the module? I mean if I dont need it.

The transmission programming is inside of the TCM and "M" stands for MODULE.

I think your getting confused with the engine tune that's available with or without a programer and code reading unit

Ok, again thanks for you patience. How does this then compare to the standard TCM flash GDE is offering?

Ok I did some research. From the GDE site:

"The primary difference is the towing tune will hold 4th gear until 70mph (2280 engine rpm) and then upshift to 5th gear. Using 4th gear between 50-70mph while towing loads over 2500lb. is beneficial for holding gear while traversing hills and it also keeps the engine rpm in the most efficient torque zone to reduce the tendency for gear hunting"

That sure isnt for me. I want the dang thing to get into 5th as soon as reasonably achievable. At the moment Im pissed I have to drive to 62mph just to get to 5th only to slow back down to 60mph to drive.

As I understand it the normal GDE tune will give me pre F37 shift points.

Thanks guys.

Hmm, my TCM tune goes to 5th before I get any where near 60?

Post F37 tune placed the shift point from 4th to 5th at 62 mph.

The GDE tune places that shift point at 58 mph.

Pre-F-37 final shift point was ca. 58mph and some who had the F-37 done got lucky and the dealer "forgot" to flash the TCM.

To be clear, racetracer is selling his TCM with the ORIGINAL GDE TCM Tune installed, NOT the towing one with the 4th gear up to 70mpg :)
