Following a bout with a blown CAAC hose I had noticed after our trip 300 miles home that she had become harder to start and, had began smoking not the wife the 2006 CRD KJ ha ha . Anyway following protocal I cleaned the other CAAC hose the intercooler the IAT sensor etc. Ran pretty well but, smoked like a train so this morning my wife goes to leave in it and, it starts hard then dies and, wont restart. I went out popped the hood and, tried to prime the pump no pressure then I noticed the glistening diesel around the rim of the filter head. The flter had gotten 1/8 of a turn loose over time causing alot of messes. I tightened it up primed the pump and, she came to life quickly. NO Smoke ! I drove it around for a few minutes and, returned to find NO SMOKE. In theory the filter being loose was allowing air to get in and, bubble the fuel which is not good on a diesel. Anyone else had a similar problem, I am using a Wix filter? 2006 CRD KJ - v-6 airbox, EHM to V-6 airbox mod, clean cat,cat back Magnaflow 2.5
