 Post subject: Hi-Lift mount on roof rack

A few dollars of stainless hardware and I have a very sturdy Hi-Lift mount! The large spacer looking thing is a shaft collar with a set screw to hold the bolt in place and the rubber is a piece of 3/8" hose.

may want to drill a hole through the end of the bolt and slide a small hitch pin through it. that way it cant come unscrewed. would really suck for that to come unscrewed going down the road. even if it was just one end it would seriously put a damper on your day

I did the same rig except I used come J-bolts and therefore did not need to drill a hole in my rack. I dipped the hook end of the J-bolt in that goop you use to insulate tool handles with.
