Okay so my girlfriend accidentally filled my CRD with gasoline. I should've been watching but I was busy on my laptop. Luckily we didn't start it before we realized the mistake. My buddy towed it to his shop, and we drained the fuel tank. Unfortunately, I broke one of the nipples off the top of the "fuel sending unit". I'm talking about the device that drops into the fuel tank that has the float attached to it. I haven't done the lift pump yet so it's just the plastic setup. I'd like to do the lift pump at some point, but it's not in my budget right now.

Does anyone have their old unit sitting around from when they did the in-tank lift pump? I would be willing to buy it off of you for a reasonable price (plus shipping of course). Please help, the dealership wants $160 for it and I just don't see that happening.

Any help is appreciated.

You can get rid of the plastic fitting and go with metal all the way to the pick up point in the tank and then install an out of the tank pump. This is done on the Cummins hop up that uses a larger external pump. I would go with stainless steel line out of the tank.
