You need an amplifier to power your subs.
The stock hu doesn't have a remote wire or preamp outputs so running an amp out of it is a no go.

^^ yep agree 100% an amp n a new head unit is a must first. Plus dont forget a power source to the amp which is a direct line from the battery

Are you trying to hook up a line out convertor? Which will give you rca outputs from a stock HU.

Yeah i didnt want to say anything because it sounds like a ghetto fix to me. I've heard these things make the subs sound like caca. They convert speaker wires into rca plugs which run to your amp. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i331 ... rters.html

i would get this one. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23128_PAC-SOEM-T.html#tabs it gives you rca outputs as well as a remote wire for the amp. I ran a similar on my stock HU for about 2 months till I got a new one radio. It powered a kicker 500.1 amp and a 12" L5 sub and sounded good at low to middle volume. Anything louder and you will get vocal through the sub if you just want more bass but not window rattling bass it will work for you.

OR instead of messing with one of those ghetto PAC converters you could get a new harness ...

(scroll to the bottom of the page, $69. harness)

And this will just plug in the back or am I going to have to cut any wires?

PAC is not the problem. The installer doesn't know how to install.

Direct fit inbetween your radio and stock harness. No splicing wires.

Just so I'm clear on this the harness will work with my plain stock CD player /radio. I plug in the back of hu and run RCA cords from the harness to the amp and so on, and then everything will be good to go. Right?

Looks to me like this is for a stock mygig radio. I think smigel has the low end one.

You will have to call them to see if it works with the basic radio. I know it's designed for the MyGig but I don't know how different if any the harness is. To my knowledge the wiring is all the same and just the head unit get's upgraded from basic to MyGig. Call them to verify that it will work with your radio.
