I am going to complete original thermostat replacement tomorrow. I was wondering if anybody has a link to a thread/post that explains the steps they took. I recently have looked around this site but to no avail.

Peace.

Thomas. Shot me an email and I'll send you my notes. Rather too long and rambling to post just yet.

Excellent writeup. I've only 2 comments:
1. on removal of the 3 tstat bolts to the block Squeeto recommends using a wobble extension. I second and third that motion as a regular 3/8ths extension binds on that "hump" in the manifold below the lower back bolt making removal difficult and reinstall without cross threading even more difficult. If you don't have a wobble extension buy one or you can try a 1/4" extension and socket which may clear.
2. when I did mine I found the temp sensor wiring clip was upsidedown (e.g. the sensor was screwed in so the release clip was on the bottom) so I had to pull the tstat before I could get to the release clip. I did take care not to repeat that problem on the reinstall.

Thanks for your help fellow members. The change went well. It was very helpful having your advice at hand while the work was being done. Thanks again!

Peace.
