I know this is from the KJ section, but many threads from that section apply to KK's as well. They have mostly similar equipment/parts.

Ya shoulda had em when you first installed your lift front and rear.
You have an ome lift... Hope your not trying to add a 2" spacer lift to it.
Do a clevis lift or add a 1/4" top plate. With Al's arms you can probably do both.

was planning on doing a spacer :oops:

I know every one seems to hate them. But They dont really bother me. With the stiffer springs id like to think the issues most have with them will be a non-issue.

I only have the replacement springs from OME.

Recently got new strut top plates, slightly used struts (OME struts) , and have my old DayStar lift (which I loved when it was on) Im looking to get the new UCAs to allow for flex with the 3-3.5in ill end up with.

When it comes to a clevis, i find that i dont know enough about it/understand it enough to do it. It seems like it is a bit of a crap shoot how much lift it will give and then id have to do small spacers for the rear to equal the same lift..seems like a small or half a spacer lift as it is. Am i wrong?

what an awesome collection of information! thanks a lot for the link. I read it through.
here is what i gathered..

i DO need bump stops, and will need a set for +3 in

The UCA's are not necessary, but highly suggested for the new lift.

A clevis lift is interesting, but Im still leary of it not being even numbers. Id be nervous that id mess up the spacing of it all and it would be of kilter.

There wasnt a ton of info regarding adding spacers to tougher springs. I have the 2927 and 2731 OME springs..If i understood correct they are both the tougher springs, so they can hold more weight without sagging. Though the lack of bumpstop may have an affect over time causing them to sag.
But what are the real issues realted to adding spacers to stronger spings?

First OME springs do not give you 1.5 inches of lift, more like 2.25 or so
Second you can not add a daystar spacer lift to the OME spring lift, you would end up with like 4.5 to 5 inches of lift and would not be driveable
Third A clevis is not hard to do , if you can count , one , two , three you can do it, if you think you can not take a tape measure and get the correct height do the 3 conduit nuts per side to keep it even.
Top plate is easy enough, lay it on top of the stock top plate and bolt it on.

Fourth For KJs I do a 3 ring clevis, a 1/4 inch top plate and 927 springs in front, with that combination of parts you get 3.5 inches of lift after it settles ( from new stock height)

and yes you need front bumpstops from Teraflex

The springs i have are advertised as 1.5..why would they add 2-2.5?

are these the bump stops ill need? they are for a KJ according to the site..but it seems most parts can carry over.

I just measured my ride height and from the ground to the bottom of the fender flare i am 34 1/2 in from the ground in the front and the back. Not sure what stock ride height is. But i do know the springs felt lower than the 2in daystar i had on there before.

My other option is this..though its SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive.

JBA 2.5 lift + Clevis 1/4 lift + rear spring isolators (im guessing two..the JBA site doesnt say the size of each..)

Lift
http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-2_5__Lift_Sp ... K-610.aspx
Spacer
http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-Rear_coil_sp ... r-705.aspx

Total cost of parts and shipping...$1,100 or so...plus probably $400 in shop costs. so $1,500 end cost for new and FINAL lift (ug)

OR

add spacer to bring to 3-3.5 in with new OME struts and and OEM replacement top plates. ONLY caveat is that i cant find out if my OME struts will support 3-3.5 in..same with my shocks. So i MAY need to replace them.

With JBA its complete and i dont have to replace parts over and over. plus i can supplement the cost by selling the OME springs/struts and sky jacker shocks, and the old daystar lift. though that isnt a lot it will probably help.

Im just shooting ideas around. Id LOVE to get to 3in if i can.

The springs are advertised as 1.5 inches have been since day one but they actually give you more than that. Ask anyone.
You measure from middle of the wheel to bottom of flare to compare stock KKs to lifted KJs that way it takes the height of the tire out of the mix
yes teraflex bumpstops, same for KJ or KK

measure what a new stock KK is , again fro middle of wheel to bottom of flare and start comparing there.
3 inches of lift is easy to do and don't have to spend 1000s

Yea was just wondering, while brushing my teeth before bed, what else there is.

It seems I need to stop being a nancy and do the Clevis lift and the isolators. If memory serves there is a way to get .5in out of that?

To set my mind at ease does any one know the exact number of isolators needed for front and rear? I want to get every thing in one swoop.

I'll measure tommarow and see where I sit height wise.

How could one get 3in with out blowing a wad on parts haha I like the JBA stuff. I just feel like such a scrub getting it instead of working my way through where I already am.

DUMB question..I have OME struts to install..do you think they will work with the adition of the Clevis lift? Or should I leave the daystar top plate on (giving them a bit more reach).

After much confusion and discussion..and the infinint patients of board members, I did finally get the replacement top plates that are oem spec.

I do appreciate all the patients gents!

OME front shocks will work with a clevis and top plate any shock will work for that
get rid of the daystar top plates, install a OEM one ( Original Equipment ) and then a 1/4 inch top plate
3/8 inch clevis with give you 3/4 inch more height
1/4 inch top plate will give you 1/2 inch more height
now add that together

I'm tired :CAMPING:

When you get rid of the daystar top plates and go back to oem plates, you will get more lift, trust me. I have ome 927s, bilstein shocks and oem top plates. No clevis lift or extra top plate shims and i sit at 21 inches. That is as high as i could go before my ucas started clanking into my springs on bumps. If you run Al's arms, you should be able to go higher, but your still bound by other things like tie rods and cv's that will only let you go so far.

Youre the man Tommudd.

So clevis will add 3/4in WITH OUT any plates added.
-->So I will have to add 3/4 in to rear to stay level? or 3/8 giving me 3/4 inlift like the clevis does?
--->The only rear isolators I can find are the JBA ones and I dont see a measurement on them, do you know if theyre 1/4 each +/-...(I have emailed Jeepin By Al regarding the spec of isolators..but havnt heard back.)
IF i were to add a top plate to the front, where can i get a top plate? Digger's part list and/or most parts websites dont seem to have front spring "top plates" listed any where.
---->and IF i am able to add a 1/4 in top plate to the front(giving that 1/2in) ill have to also add another 1/4 to the rear..totaling 1in of coil isolators right?

I gather that the UCAs are probably a necessary buy with any lift over 3in..which if i do clevis + plates i will likely come near..so they are added to the list with the new teraflex bump stops and the OEM strut mount plates I have ready to go.

Have:Strut top plates
OME struts

Need:JBA UCAs
TeraFlex bump stop

Not sure of:"Top plate"
spring isolators

In theory yes you Could make them. Since it doesn't sound like like you know what they even look like, just buy them.
Boiler sells them in the vendor section.
Jba sells them.
Rro sells them. (I know, i know)

Hate to troll but i got an answer to some of my own questions.

The rear isolators are 3/8” each (0.35”)

and the top plates are 1/4 and the rep from JBA says they give 3/8-1/2 in lift.
(JBA sent me a link! :D http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-Strut_spacer ... t-684.aspx )

So now the question is does the rear isolator only give 3/8 lift or does it go closer to 1/2 per isolator?

and i SUPPOSE that if i were to do the front clevis+top plate (lifting the front 1 1/4in) and the rear with 3x isolators (lifting 1 1/8in) it will all but level out. The front will endup 1/8 higher than the rear..in a sense leveling it out correct?

My furrent ride height is 21in rear and 20.5 front..so i suppose with new strut mounts ill sit at 21 all around, much like atthehelm does with the same springs.

Do you think the 1/8 difference in height will show/ride weird? or am i backwards on my math. :banghead:

~~~~
If i didnt do the clevis.
1/4 top plate to front (adding 3/8-1/2) and at least one isolator to the rear (adding 3/8) should be about right all the way around..with new sturt top plate/strut mount and struts.
will only give me another 1/2inof lift but i can finally be done :shock:
