well you dont have to direct wire it... you can just attach it to the battery with the provided clips when you need it... looking at the size of that unit it may not fit under the hook if you have the factory airbox set up. plus that specific unit i believe doesn't have anyway to mount it to anything because it's supposed to be a portable unit

Could you recommend a few under hood options?

Better choice?

Wolo makes good under the hood choices for air horns but the larger pumps they have will do tires ( i have one and it works)... if your looking for good OBA I can also suggest ARB pumps as well. great choice and if you ever do lockers that will work, depends on your needs. if it's for just for tires sometimes a good portable is better they put out more cubic feet of air. why do you want OBA?

you dont need such a huge kit... they make the HD model which is much cheaper than the dual kit and will function for two lockers and other tasks just fine ( may consider an air tank of 1 gallon as well)

I run the single compressor like the above(those are the new style HD compressor from ARB),very small but fill's my 35" tires from 12psi to 27psi pretty dang quick as CO2 is becoming a pain to get refilled and do not gte many trips out of a 10lbs tank anymore with 35" tires.Granted not as fast as my Powertank can.I run the mini ARB compressor for my F/R ARB's which is located under the hood.

musclez, that kit is also on Jeepin By Al's website, @ $161 plus tax/shipp. If you look on the KK Down Under Post, the aussie has his compressor mounted under the hood Pretty sure I saw the newer kit at 4wheel parts also. Either way

I am going with the ARB twin like troy has pictured. I have been looking at it really hard since they introduced into the line up. I mean you can't really beat it I mean it has a 100% duty cycle and an extra large reserve tank. It can air up a set of 35's in less then a minute while running eveything else.

That is the mini compressor, just to engage lockers.Would take about 30mins to air up a tire. It's pretty small, fit's in the palm of your hand.I know I have the exact same one under my hood to engage my ARB's.

I have the single version bolted to my toolbox in the back,That twin version will be awesome.I should have waited another 3 weeks and bought the twin version.

Well guess what i picked up an ARB twin air for like 3/4 of the list price and free shipping. Now just need to work on the air lockers and then a trail ride to test it all.

good luck with that twin compressor. great unit, but it draws 56amps or so by itself. I don't see you being able to fit that under your hood so I hope you don't mind running high gauge wire and having a lot of amps traveling a distance for your vehicle.

Comes with the correct wires already, but if mounted in the back like I did it's no issue running 8 guage wires back there.

I own a CRD I can fit anything bigger then a soda can under the hood without modification to sheet metal or mounting location. So yes it will be going in the back mounted to either my JBA rack or a custom aluminium plate. And that is just 56 amps till it fills whatever. So I can run it my fridge and my roof lights all at once and still have a few amps left over.
