Yep those are slicks. I'll be ordering tires in the next week or two. Really pushing them to the max. I can't wait.

Well finally got the rear cargo shelf completed. :pepper: The first design I had did go as planned because i would of had to build into in the Jeep which means i would not have been able to take out if needed. :banghead: so then i came up with this put hinge's on the sides so that way when i need to take it out all i do is fold the sides in and pull out. let me know what y'all think.

how are you securing it so it does not shift around, and what are you using to keep the sides from flipping up?

here i am using metal rods to sit in tn the little noches by the lift gate, when i want to take it out i just grab the rod and slide them inward.

here i was using metal rods aswell but once i got it in the jeep i noticed that it wasn't sitting level so i cut a 2x4 to length to sit into the noches by the seats.
as far as the sides all i have there is a hinge and it rest on the window seal, and i think between the weight and gravety it holds them down when going over bumps or railroad tracks. have not heard any movement back there. i have had a 50lb bag of mordor setting ontop and had no issues. now if i were to go and start jumping my jeep off hills and stuff ill probably have some issues then but dont see myself doing that.

cool, thanks for the info

i've been thinking about this for some time now. i'm thinking about using a 2x4 with a peg to stick into the existing rear holes for the cargo cover. if the pegs are rigidly attached to the 2x4 then i'd have to put a joint in the shelf so that i could fold it up to disengage the pegs. then i'd put a joint on the FWD end going side to side so I can fold the FWD side of the shelf back in case I want to recline the rear seats. i was looking at using those notches by the lift gate with maybe a spring loaded pin to prevent rattling

i've got the concept pretty much defined in my head. just have to take some measurements and get it on paper

anybody know of a good, simple, free cad program to do simple stuff like this?

just had a thought... wonder if something like this would make my sub sound different

Sounds like a killer plan. As far as the subs I was thinking the same thing but im still trying to figure out what I need and how to do it myself. Good luck with your plans.

just looked at a thread in the Fabrication section, and there is a really simple shelf concept for the KJ. all the ideas i have may be over complicating it, and all of the different joints may end up making it pretty weak.

i dont really have any other major mod plans right now, so maybe i can put a little extra time into this to make sure it ends up strong, looks good, and has all of the conveniences im looking for.

Replaced the tires and wheels about a week ago. Silenced the seatbelt chime...added roof rack cross bars...added window vent shades and stone deflector. Tinted the front two side windows. That's about it.

I soooo want to modify my headlights now to blacken them out after seeing the thread on that. 8) I'm just a little chicken$hit to actually get started on it by myself. :ROTFL:

Ordered an oil pressure gauge, Remote Oil Filter, and transmission temperature gauge. The install will have to wait a while due to work, but having them available is half the battle, right?

Question:

Has anyone thought about some decals for the headlights? Basically the same look as MntnLvr's headlight covers, but stickers rather than plastic covers.

I'm sure Pixel Decals could cut some of these if the interest was there

For those of us not stoked about throwing our headlights in the oven, this could be a great option

There was a topic about that. Don't know if the guy can still get them or anything, just search a little. It a vinyl. Sorry I can't be much help, I'm a little too busy to go searching.

I didn't realize that. I'll look.

I trust Pixel Decals. Their stuff holds up through sub zero temps, ice, salt, pressure washing, hot sunshine, and doesn't fade (from my experience)

So I'd only be interested if they made them . I might contact them with the specs. Can't be more than $30-40

Yep somebody made them. I got a set and the fit was very poor and the color was worse.
I can't get the info on my phone but if I get a chance I'll post more.

Went and got mine muddy yesterday. My stock lib made it through holes where a new stock wrangler 4 door had to be towed out both ways. Got to love these kks!!! Capable little sleepers. Should have recorded on the trail. 2 wheel motion most of the hills and she went like a champ. 2 guys on 4 wheelers pulled up and said they never knew these newer liberties were setup like this. Love it.
