These engines are hood ornaments without a wire harness, pinout and an ECM. The cheetah engine pictured is completely different than the VM engine used in the US KJ CRD. It was a ground up redesign and does not even share the same block. However, in stock form this engine can push 200 hp and would do wonders in a Wrangler if it could be made to run.

Wrong 2.8 however. That is the new one for the FWD.

There is also one based on the VM that may go in to a Chevy pick up. It was in Diesel magazine. Most likely will not see it in the US.

I ran into a guy in Grand Jct, CO a few years back who had bought a diesel engine on German ebay when Daimler owned Chrysler. He paid $1500 USD and claimed it bolted right into his TJ. It looked like an excellent fit.

I wonder if those were test engines? Anybody with a Wrangler would LOVE that set up. . . . or just about any small diesel for that matter. If my '97 TJ had one it would NEVER have gotten sold.

Those engines can't be bolted to anything but the 62TE since the rear face of block is different from RWD engines.

The ECU for that engine is designed to communicate with something 2007 or newer, to try and put it into something older (KJ, TJ, etc) makes it more valuable as a boat anchor.
