I only did 5 fill-ups without the ECO-Tuned ECM, but they averaged 21.55 mpg. In the following 82 fill-ups (for a total of 87 so far), I have burned an average of 23.6 mpg. So, I'm calling that a 2.05 mpg improvement.
Extrapolating the pre-ECO tune average above (understanding that is a small sample size to base an average off of, but better than pulling numbers out of thin air), I'd have alternately burned 1,419.4 gallons. With the ECO, I have burned about 1294.5 gallons. ECO tune has saved me 124.94 gallons of fuel.
I bought the Jeep in March of 2010. ECO-tune has saved me from burning an additional 124.94 gallons, which, based on *current* prices of $4.15/gallon (here in RI), equates to: $518 dollars in 2 years.
Oh, and for those of you that speak metric: I get 10L per 100km.
I hope this info helps you.
If you live in a seasonal climate using a limited number of fillups over a short time period does not give a good baseline. For example my March average mpg is 21.32 based on 18 March fillups over 7 years. My overall average is 22.81 based on 196 fillups over 7 years. I'm calling that a 1.5mpg improvement without any tune!
