I've searched the forum but haven't found the answer yet...anyone know the towing capacity of the 2007 Liberty WITHOUT the towing package? Also, with a class III receiver hitch, will a 2" drop for the ball mount clear the spare tire, or is a 4" drop needed? Thanks.

4" drop is the bare minimum, and it depends on the tongue on trailer more than the draw bar on the jeep. expect to either flip the spare tire holder over to get a little more clearance, or remove the spare all together when towing.

Before lifting I used no drop on mine when towing a Jet Ski or boat. I did however use a longer ball mount to clear the spare. Now I imagine I'll need a good drop but then again, no more Jet Ski or boat to be towing so I'm not worried about it.
