So, I recently got the results back from my latest Used Oil Analysis (UOA), and they found what looks to be antifreeze in the oil. Here is the report:

I would initially suspect the head gasket, is there anything else I should be looking for on this motor?

Is this a common issue?

I hope it isn't too expensive.

Hope you stopped driving/running engine. Coolant is very hard on bearings.

Hmmm...the lab's comments said to check back in 4,000 miles, like it may be premature to make any diagnosis. But, I really don't want to take it to the dealer :?

There's also an Oil cooler under the Turbo
you can blow gaskets there and leak antifreeze in
(but it's not real common - mine did and I think one other)

Thanks for that bit of info about the oil cooler. Should something like that be detectable by a cooing system pressure test? I think that might be the next thing I need to do, unless there is a better way to track this down. On my Benz ('91 350 SDL) I suspected a coolant leak into the engine but it wasn't detectable until I had coolant flavored steam coming from the exhaust.

Or, since it is such a lovely day today, maybe I'll wash it. I can't remember if I usually wash it in even years or odd.

Thanks, Ridenby, I needed that.

I also got my L27 safety recall (rear lower control arms) in the mail, so I will take it in for both at the same time. My appointment is for Monday. Unfortunately, the accessory belt on my other car decided to start peeling apart today so I don't know how I will be getting to work next week.

Well, I got the Jeep back today. They changed the lower control arms, but they could not find any evidence of any coolant leak. The report read:

I have another oil sample that I sent in last Friday, those results should be back any day now.
