I have a question for you guys.

I'm looking into turning the little storage compartment in the back of my KK into a little tool box. I'm going to be using diamond plate for the top of it and attaching that to the floor with a hinge. The issue I see is attaching the hinge to the floor. It is just thin plastic so i don't want to just use screws. I would like to be able to drill a hole so i can use a nut and bolt. Does anyone know how id be able to remove this plastic storage area so i could do this?

The red line is where I want to place the hinge. Sorry for hard to see pic, it's night time and cell phone flashes fail.

Thanks in advance

the whole floor comes out in one big piece and the side panels gotta come off in the rear for that. even with it removed im pretty sure you wont be able to put hardware where youre wanting too. its actually fairly thick plastic, well i think it will be strong enough anyway. i would honestly just use something lighter then diamond plate and use a good sturdy hinge with lots of self tapping screws. or just make a removable lid without the hinge.

Ok, so it's just the typical take everything apart until you finally get the whole thing to come out then. I was wanting to make it sturdy because i had planned on using the diamond plate to mount wrenches and what not. That way once i lift the lid, the back will have tools attached as well as the bottom.

I removed mine to install an amp with wiring. I only removed the right side panel to get it out. Remove the d ring on the panel and then the rest clips off. For the floor once you remove the plastic piece that is right as the door opens you will see two 10 mm bolts remove those. Also the plastic cover in the rear behind the seat clips in. You just pull up on it. Now you can remove the floor you need to lift up on the front as there are 2 hooks in the rear that slips in. I have some pics of it removed in a thread on here somewhere. Just search my username. The plastic is pretty thick and sturdy.
