It looks like my 05 CRD with 90 thousand miles has jumped time or the timing belt sliped. Upon start up Friday loud bang and runing very ruff. I had it flat beded back to my work. I need a service manual and any advise. I am a aircraft mechanic but never had A CRD apart. any advise would be welcome. Thanks, Todd

Thanks for the reply! I have had the KJ CRD for 4 years and 60,000M and installed a Pro-vent, EGR Delete and GDE tune. I was going to change the T belt at 100,000m. but this happened. From reading, the best I can forsee is the damage will be to the rocker arms? Will there be a need to remove the head for inspection?

I haven't pulled mine apart yet - but the pictures looks like there's a cylinder head cover with intake manifold - that's on top of the cylinder head -and that's what you have to pull - trouble is that's where the cams are - so you have to pull the cams to see if the rocker arms are broken.

best bets - Keith at GDE and Sir Sam.

GALATRON and I have done this job in the recent near past, as have several others. GALATRON has a pretty good post on the timing belt, rocker/lifter rebuild project. You should not have to p[ull the head unless you find a bent valve stem. PPM if you have questions and good luck.
