Can you put Michelin 235/85R16 on our liberty crd's with no lift? Thank's for your time.

You will need to keep the inflated tire to these dimensions, 29-30" maximum height, 9" at the maximum width (side wall bulge). Stay within those parameters and your stock suspension will be fine.

Thats the size I wanted to go to but after much reading and measuring, I went with 215/85/16 DuraTracs. I did not pound the seam up front, they just bolted on. There were scuff marks (thats my word for not quite rub) on the plastic liner but you couldnt hear it and it hasnt got any worse; but no rubbing.

I feel the power and braking impact of the larger and much heavier tire and am pleased I didnt go to the 235 until regearing and improving brakes.

235/85/16 is aprox 31.9 to 32.1 inches in outside diameter depending on the brand and tread pattern (for instance km2's are 32)

I would not run this size tire unless you were ready to lift and pound, trim etc. I don't even have fender liners, and my front bumper is trimmed severely.

That said, I run 235/85 and it's great.

Thanks guys.I decided to go with the 225/75R16 stock size in the General Grabber AT2.So far so good.
