Can anyone send me a picture of the threads of their intake side, cam locking pin hole? I would like to be able to use it as an example of what my hole should look like without stripped threads. I'm afraid that the dealer will claim there is nothing wrong unless I can say, "look there should be more threads."

I already plan to show them the following two pictures...

The intake cam locking tool:

My stripped hole

These two pictures should show pretty clearly why only the first few threads are ripped off. He did something with the tool still in the hole.

I don't plan to have them mess with my valve cover, but I like the idea that there needs to be a record of the fact that their dealership is responsible for this if it becomes a problem in the next 5-7 years when I try to change my belt again.

Thanks in advance for the help

While you're at it, can I have a picture of the actual plug that goes in the hole? If the plug is long, then it would eliminate the possibility of the mechanic over-torquing it right? The entire hole would be stripped rather than just the threads used by the locking tool.

Thanks so much.

I would push to get it rectified ASAP. Going later in 5-7 years means a court battle, IMO.
