Hi everybody,
I had some A/C work done a few months back and it would cool 40 degrees lower then outside temp but now it is only cooling 20 degrees cooler. I was thinking that i have not changed the serpentine belt and i have 66,000 miles on the jeep if that would affect the A/C. any help would be great thanks

AC performance is controlled by a number of factors so it's hard to provide an answer but here are some thoughts of things that can impact AC performance (NOTE some overlap)
1. the AC condensor also contains the transmission cooler so high tranny fluid temps can impact AC performance
2. ambient temp
3. air flow across the AC condensor and/or radiator - bugs or other junk in either core
4. radiator coolant temp
5. performance of AC condensor electric fan just behind radiator (2 speed fan if running properly)
6. performance of mechanical fan on front of engine behind radiator - if fan clutch has failed won't move enough air - serp belt is not directly related as the serp belt is either broken or it's not and it not it works.
7. AC "freon" level and pressures - need gauges and knowledge to test.

Any decent AC shop can check #7 for not too much $s and you can go from there. That said the serp belt does need replacement and while you are in there I'd recommend a fan shroud mod for future access and replacing the OEM fan clutch with the heavy duty Hayden especially if you have an 05 and maybe the metal fan with the nylon 11 blade gasser fan to move more air beginning at a lower coolant temp.
