I have a 2006 CRD with a Frankenlift and the above tires. The tires rub pretty bad to both sides and I'm curious if the power steering stops can be adjusted so that this doesn't happen? Its starting to pull fairly hard on the plastic covering and pretty much wipes out the washer reservoir.
If you can't adjust where the tires stop, what are some things a person can do to help rectify this? I'm not to this jeep and even newer to 4WD'ing. Thanks!

Ken

Look to be the stock wheels that say "jeep" on them

you have to trim the front liner - you can easily lose the washer reservoir.
(my 245's weren't bad - but 265's killed it)

you may have to pound the pinch weld - I had 3 different 245's - one didn't rub at all - one would occasionally scrape and one hit on every turn - depends on the Tread width - which is different from the section width

pinch weld http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=73900#p73900

if I remember correctly stock wheels need a little more offset in the front to clear everything (I'm running Moab's)

FYI - you'll get more info on lifts/tires in the 4x4 section.

Hi,

i run 245/75R 16 on stock rims and don't get any rub, I put spaces in 1.25inc and I stated to get rub against the pinch weld!! Really you need betted back spacing on you rims. Seam like the the best to go with is 4 inc as it's in the middle between stock and spacers that bring it to 3.25 inc that looks to be took much. Failing that it's down to pound the pinch weld and cutting a bit off the front bumper to make space. If you have a Frankenlift you should be okay height wise to give you enough room not to rub?! how old is it and at what height are you now?

Fil.

Its a 2.5" lift and unsure of how old the lift is, but my vehicle is an 06. I ordered spacers on Saturday so I hope to have them by this coming weekend. Since this vehicle is totally new to me I'm unsure of anything other then what the PO told me which has, at many times, but incorrect.
It has been rubbing for a bit and pulling on the plastic wheel wells. The front two are pretty loose. Is it best to get the stock plastic pins to hold it up (I assume that are breaking off) or is there another/better way to hold the plastic in place? Thanks!

Ken
