Just finished a Rock Father Lift kit on my 06. After some trimming I fit it with a set of 255/70r18 BFGS (32") tires. I noticed that now when the tranny locks in 3rd @ 1800 rpms with GDEs TCM I can feel a vibration. Its not as bad as when I had the stock converter. But it is noticable the more pedal you feed it. I did have rail pressure box pluged in. So I unplug it but can make it still vibrate. Is this the Sun Coast Converter not holding. Not sure why my stock ecm tune would be making the converter shudder with just bigger tires and a TCM tune

Before you get too excited, check your rear drive shaft universal joints.
Did you put in the Transgo kit that Suncoast recommends?
The check valve in the front pump has a soft seat and fails causing shudder.

If you replaced the check valve components with those that are in the transgo kit, that should resolve the check valve issues. It is probably farther down the drive train.

Just did the converter. From what I've read that the Transgo kit was a waste of $$$ cuz the tranny will learn the new pressures and adapt. I'll check the U-joints but it seems lockup related. Might just start saving for a built 545rfe while hoping this one holds for the mean time.

The Transgo Resister is not needed, because the transmission will adapt. The springs, on the other hand, replace the weak springs in the factory pump.

the check valve in the pump as warp has stated is a weak piece of beancounter doodoo. should have left the 5.9 kit in it to add about 50 bucks to the Jeep

yes the 4 parts needed to replace the check valve are all in a single package in the kit.

Called Transgo this afternoon. Jimmy there said that they entire kit can be installed from the pan side of the transmission. No need to pull the trans, TC or pump.

I did not mention the check valve specifically. I asked him if the entire kit could be installed from the pan. He said, "yes, the entire kit, including the pump parts.".

the site says, Partial install may be done from bottom end on Valve body, however full kit install requires transmission removal, disassembly and reinstallation.

I am just relaying what the man told me. I very specifically asked him if the trans, TC and pump had to come out.

Would the HD2 kit help for a while? Don't mind digging into the bottom.

The only part of the Transgo kit not worth putting in is the crappy resistor (Suncoast recommends throwing away the resistor), that is what the TCM learns around, not the valve body guts. The springs, the spool seals, other little goodies, and the plate is well wroth the effort and a good investment.
The Tall Tail about the Transgo being not worth the effort to install because the TCM learnes around it, is more misinformation than the Lying Political Attack Adds filling up the Airwaves for the next two weeks. I have trained TCMs and let others know how to train TCMs and most of us have been very successful at it.
Had you put the Pump part of the Transgo kit into your Front Pump or opted for the Sonnax version, you would not be having a shudder problem you describe. If the fluid in your trans or torque converter smells burned, you should get a hold of Suncoast and discuss having the lock up clutch material replaced. You also might consider having a Suncoast rebuilt valve body if it does not look great when you have the valve body opened up to put in the kit.
Here is an illustration of where the crappy check valve in the front pump is that Transgo has a fix for in the Kit.
Image
Sonnax also has a repair valve for the crappy soft seat, but the tool costs $1,500 to machine out the body to install their valve.
As stated above, you will need to drop the trans, remove the valve body, pop out the front cover, and remove the front pump to do the job. If the trans smells burned, you better plan on going deeper.
