Right rear window regulator went out and after a brief search I found the Steiger replacement, got one and got busy replacing it. I went to take the metal clip that allows me to disengage the glass from the bracket and I seem to have lost the metal clip. I tried not to lose it, but when it let go, it shot somewhere and I haven't been able to find it. Is there a way for me to rig up a homemade clip if I fail to find it after another thorough search? Or is there a place that I might find a new one?

From the pictures in the instructions it seems I could use a cotter pin. I might go to home depot and grab a couple to mix and match.

If I understand you correctly you lost the clip that holds to ball stud in place on the window regulator. Technically that's not a cotter pin (goes thru a hole in something and either is bent or spring loaded to keep things together - example thru bolt to lock a nut in place such as on an axle shaft). It's more of a spring clip as illustrated at http://compare.ebay.com/like/1109427999 ... s&var=sbar . Unfortunately it needs to 1) fit tightly in the slot while 2) gripping the ball stud. You can have a go a a good hardware store (big box HD or L) are not IMHO good hardware stores or you might try a good auto parts store like NAPA to see if Dorman or some such produces the clip.

Alternatively, your best bet might be to check with Steiger Performance. I know they don't include that part but you cannot be the first customer to lose it. Hence they may have some or at least know where to get one.

Other than that any KJ in a junk yard will have one.

Driverside rear window lock failed for me. Wouldn't auto lock, or couldn't unlock with keyfob or door switch. Just paid the 60 bucks for the part and had dealer fix it. think it was like 120 or so. Happened 18 months after I had the Jeep but i was over my 36k miles bumper/bumper coverage. I was at 42k. I started to take it apart myself but by the time I went to get any special tools, parts and time, well, I decided to let the dealer 'deal' with it (no pun intended). :SOMBRERO:

I've talked to all the auto parts stores, my local junkyard, and the dealer with nobody able to help me. Also haven't heard back from Stieger performance, but I'm hoping to be able to maybe walk a junkyard to find this piece. If all else fails, I may have to buy this and just wait for another window to break, or go ahead and replace it before it does.
