Is new front cover needed for new style front tranny pump?

Hi,
I just dropped my tranny and am replacing the torque converter and the front pump.

Can I reuse the original front cover or is there a new style that must be purchased along with the newer and improved style of the front pump.

The cover for the new design pump is different that the old pump so yes, you have to get a new front cover.

Did mine a year ago in July along with a new euro torque converter. No more ATF drainback issues.

If you get the new style front pump, the cover comes with it. I don't think this is something that is available separately.
