O yeah, I mangled it haha. My buddy knows a guy that owns a big field with some raised terraces and stuff that he lets us wheel in. My buddy's got a lifted JKU on 33's and I was watching him take on some pretty simple stuff... well simple for the JKU... So I decided i was gonna go grab the libby and show what it could do. And hey, it did pretty well for a KK sittin at stock ride height. I actually didn't find this until I got home that night. I must have cracked it going up and over a steep terrace.
I'm thinking about maybe getting some custom rock sliders made that sit where the rocker panel usually is and just ditching the rocker panel completely. I think boblemoche did this as well as the Jeep Liberator II. Oh and by the way this is in Omaha Nebraska.

I looked at doin the same thing. There's metal in the way and it's not a shape that makes it very convienient but if you get it done, save your templates and plans. If I remember correctly, there were a few others that wanted to do the same thing. :2cents:

Happy :JEEPIN:

I was disappointed in my Coopers.I have about 25000 on them and less then 1/2 tread left. But my friend pointed out that that's what they are rated. 40,000 miles.
I should also add that I've never had a tire last. My roads suck, and poorly maintained. I had one set of tire on my truck that had good tread, but the rubber got hard and had NO grip. Not fun with a V10.
I'm looking at tires because of the necessity of getting to work.

I'm with you on the coopers. I've had a few sets on different vehicles and didn't like them. The rubber is too hard to get a good grip on the street when it's wet but they did last awhile. They gave a rough ride too.

I want to do the same thing. Ted like you said the pinch seam hangs low making it tough to make strong. Another problem is at the wheel wells because the liner attaches at the plastic rockers. I haven't taken the off the rocker panels yet to see whats under there though.

Well brought my friend home from school today. I spent the night there partying after our last final and it would have been stupid of me not to take him home lol. He ended up having 5 huge duffle bags, 32" flat screen, 2 packpacks of food and other things, and another smaller duffle bag of stuff. That along with whatever I keep in the Jeep, my stuff from the night, and my girlfriend's stuff for the night we got it all to fit with half the back seat down. We didn't even layer anything and it was all even with the bottom of the glass on the tailgate.

I felt the added weight, but it wasn't a problem at all, and I don't even think it made the rear end drop. Sorry no pics though...

Now the plans are to get my oil changed, I think I've put on a few hundred miles since my idiot light came on. So probably tomorrow I'll take it to my uncle's shop. I'm not going to do it myself when he does it for me for cheap, and it's just easier to put the truck on the lift, but at least I know how if I ever have to do it myself :P

After that I'll probably put my skid plates on and give it a MUCH needed wash. Or maybe I'll wash it today/tonight idk lol.

Lol. Reason I was asking is because on some other vehicles, a lot of people assumed that when the oil light comes on, it's time to change the oil. Unfortunately, that light comes on when the oil pump senses like 10% of the oil flow thru the pump, at which time damage has already begun on the motor. Nothing catastrophic usually, but if that oil light comes on in other cars, your oil has been way below the level it should be at for quite some time.

It's the "Change Oil" message on every start up lol. I tend to go by that rather than the book. I think the manual says like every 6k miles or something like that, but the message usually comes up every 4k or so.

I think I read somewhere that the change oil message is based on driving conditions somehow as a result of a calculation in the computer. I've noticed that it usually comes on a little early on mine. I usually wait till 3000 miles to change it though. :2cents:

I've always been told to change as close to 3,000 miles as possible and not wait for the light, but I've also been told it's because of the local heat that we shouldn't wait the 6,000 miles the manual suggests. Unless, of course, running synthetic. I've never lived anywhere north of South Texas and had had a vehicle to maintain, so maybe its different in different areas.

While we're on this topic, how do you reset that when you do change the oil?

Last night I put a nice dent/scratch about a foot long in the rear passenger door of my KK. Compliments of very muddy trails, tire treads full of mud and not much traction, and a pretty steep hill on an incline lol. Oh yeah, and the culprit, the tree. Haha. Meh, battle scars. :JEEPIN:

To reset the Change Oil chime/light:
1) Key to On/Run (not Start)
2) Fully depress and release gas pedal 3 times in a row
3) Key to Off
Next time you start it, Change Oil will not chime.
Repeat in 3-6000 miles...

About a week ago I lifted it. And tonight I took it out again to play in it. I am amaaaazed at the ride quality off road. Holy smokes. By FAR the best mod yet. I can't even explain the night and day difference in the ride. One friend who had come out with me a handful of times before the lift came out tonight and said, "Wow. That's amazing. I was getting to the point where I almost didn't want to be a passenger with how it was stock." :P

Oh, and tommudd, I drilled my first two holes in it. Guess she's stickin around for awhile. :SOMBRERO: :JEEPIN:

Huge thanks to tommudd too for my last minute/late night questions to help me wrap it up!!

Day 2 working on heated seat kit install. Man, removing and reinstalling seat upholstery is hard, painful work. The heating elements are in both seats now, and tomorrow I'll wire it up. Nothing to show for pics right now.

Yeah OME HD, 3 nuts per clevis, 1/4" top plate on the front, MD and 2 extra spring isolators on the rear. This pic is only a few days after finishing/alignment, so it may have settled slightly from this pic.

It definitely got the front in the air, which is what I was going for. It sits pretty level now and the crossmember is outta the dirt so that's always good. :jester:
