OK I am driving along at 75 and go to pass somebody and the rpms shot up to 4k and it was accelerating anymore. I pull off the highway and have no movement anymore. the fluid is clean and the only noise I hear is a slight whine. Anybody have any ideas what it could be?

Well, to state the obvious, something bad happened. I assume the fluid level is OK; lack of fluid will do that, like if you burst a hose and spewed fluid out.

My first checks would be in order:
U joints,
Transfer case cable,
Then it gets harder;
Flexplate bolts, ( remove starter)
After that it gets involved, and expensive.

Maybe the TC hub, maybe something else.

After you rule out cable to the xfer case, I'd bet my mony on a blown torque converter. Good luck.

To rule out u-joints looks under vehicle if a driveshaft is dragging on the ground, its u-joint.

All of the other issues a previous poster mentioned (flex plate bolts, cables, etc.) can be determined as part of the process dropping the tranny for a TC replacement.
