Welcome to the one man show club!!! And than not only do you need to do all the things listed in your post, you must also wait for your suppliers do deliver the machine parts you need to build your products!!

It is fun however, ain't it!

Al

That is my biggest pain right there. I'm on my third Manufacturer because I don't put up with being put on the back burner to larger companies.

Also, do I see a hole on the bumper in that area? Will that hole accept an auxiliary light mounted there instead of a filler plate?
And, with the spare on the gate (darn, I liked the 45 degree angles!) where does the lic. plate mount?

Thanks....

Is there enough space to mount a winch inside the front bumper? HOW ABOUT THE 2006 MODEL??? I have a CRD and that requires a lot of cooling. I mostly like your design but it's not for an 06 and no internal winch mount.

Never satisfied,

I thought the CRD ran cooler than has models? Thats why it has a viscous heater.

I think it does run cooler!

I like yours but I am drawn to the ARB because of the guard. I just have too many deer that like to hop out in front of cars. I think you indicated somewhere that you were not going to do a guard right. I suppose I could fabricate an add on that would bolt or weld on.

Funny story with this pic..... The tank is at the local Army base (which happens to overlook a certain nuke plant). Prior to 9/11 it was basically a tourist stop. Since then it's an off-limits area as is the entire front of the base. So, I pull up to the cordoned off, sand bagged, orange coned, stay out signed guard shack and the sentry comes out and says "Can I help you?" I say " I'd just like to take some pics with my Jeep in front of the tank. He says "That area is off limits, don't u see the signs, cones, etc?" I say "I know that, that's why I stopped to ask first." Guy looks at me like I'm a from another planet so I get ready to leave when he sees the Homeland Security decal on my windshield and asks who I work for. I tell him Homeland Security. He asks for my ID then takes it into the guard shack and makes a phone call. Next thing I know, a military vehicle comes flyin down the base exit the wrong way, stops in front of my Jeep and a guy in full gear jumps out.
My thought for the day: "CR@P! I'm in trouble now!!" I'm picturing calling my boss and tryin to explain why I'm locked up on a military base on a weekend.
Let me reiterate... He asked me who I worked for, I did not flash my ID and say I want to take a picture. Of course in my mind I'm thinkin they will probably not mention that little detail at the trial!
Anyway, guy from car starts movin cones, comes over to my window, hands me my ID and says "Ok, pull in behind the cones and take your pics then I'll put the cones back." Needless to say my hands were kinda shakin and I only got about 2 clear pics before I left!

Ted (USAFCOP) is really putting the bumpers (front and rear) to the test. Remember, these are not the production models but prototypes.

We have witnessed two ARB bumpers get dents and bends in them here at Moab.

I definitely tested my Rock Lizard "Skink Sliders" on Easter Egg Hill at the Flat Iron Mesa trail. Came out smelling like roses. You put your entire weight on the sliders and skids on top of a huge rock as you go down and around two rock outcroppings. Pictures won't do this justice. Three people did not want to try it due to the risk of hitting your KJ near the roof on the rocks.

Ted and I may leave later today or perhaps first thing Sunday morning and head back to Colorado. Ted is out on a moderate trail with the other Ted (ARB vs Rock Lizard front bumpers). Actually the trail is not hard so they most likely won't find anything to bang the bumpers on.

He's not going to answer every little detail because that bumper is just a prototype.

Still looking at an August delivery time for the first production batch. Figuring mid to late August. My manufacturer has a full schedule with my last prototype order coming in early to mid July, then they have a six week turn around on my production order when I give them the go ahead after that last prototype passes inspection. Things are still as I explained in my email so far. :D

Yes, I'm serious. Ted (USAFCOP) has been my test mule for the KJ stuff so far. Prototypes actually cost more than production models due to being a one off production, and when Ted went to Moab this year with his front and rear bumpers, his primary mission with those bumpers was to try to destroy them, which meant risking serious damage to his own vehicle, so that I can study the problem/weak areas and build a better product.

Ted did a pretty good job of pimping them too. 8)

Mine's on order too.
