KK_Canuck_Guy, how do you like the Duratracs in the snow/ice?

Hey, from my limited experience testing it in the snow..so far so good. It does have the snow rating so it does pretty well.

When in 2WD the traction control still kicks in when turning tightly uphill but this is to be expected....otherwise I had to push it pretty hard to break the back end loose (I did manage to do some doughnuts in an abandoned parking lot, but like I mentioned...I had to push it pretty hard to do it)...the front goes where you point it without much slippage....assuming you're not speeding excessively.

In 4WD the traction control did not come on at all...and I pushed it quite hard......

Of course this is more tests in snow (not ice)....and at that...snow on pavement.....have not taken it off road in the snow yet.

Also I have not really tried any of the other known brands like BFG's or full on snow tires (on this truck)...so I cannot really compare this to another brand.
I must say though....these are MUCH BETTER than my last set (Kelly Trail Mark AT's)

Well if the weather man is right I may be able to take a few snow shots myself. It has only snowed once this winter  I wonder if its going to get nasty later on.

I also have Duratracs and love them. I must say its a lot better than driving with mud terrains in the snow and ice. I have had them for two winters now and have not had a problem with them.

Well, here are two pics of my KJ on my driveway in front of my house. And that is in a very centrally located suburb of Stockholm, Sweden (it looks very rural with all that snow and in the dark, doesn't it!).

I took the pictures just after I got home from work on December 5th. That day and the night before Stockholm was hit by a blizzard that dumped 10-15 inches of snow on us over just 18 hours. Let's just say it was a good idea to take the KJ to work and few people who did not drive 4x4s had difficulties doing so.

It has continued to build up over December and we have about 1 1/2 - 2 ft of snow in the garden but now the temperature has moved up temporarily so it is melting. A real Viking winter already, though!

Oh, and btw, the KJ handled like a dream in the snow. In 4HI mode all the time.

Took a roadtrip up to Boone, NC. The Jeep did great climbing up some very steep and icy gravel roads. I have duratracs but no chains. 4x4 only access cabin ftw!
