Wow, it is bad out there. Just went to pick up my generator at my house and bring it to my girls. Firestone winterforce 245/70R16 are pretty good.

I did a little "snow wheelin" on this old access road. Those are my inbound tracks up to the cul de sac.

Quick question. 4 Part Time is fine in these conditions?

Yep part time is perfect! I don't expect you to see any asphalt any time soon, that would be when to put it in full time

in my experience full time w/ the traction control left on is by far the best.

I did a lot of "playing around" in snow covered parking lots, and that was by far the best grip I could get....

The traction control system in that thing is pretty advanced... it can apply the brakes to wheels independently to transfer power "from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip"

IMO, the 2wd / 4wd / AWD (They call it full time 4wd) is the best feature of our jeeps....

I use my full time 4wd in the rain all the time, and beat people off the line (where I live, it rains a lot)

I was going good until a snow drift. Dug out and backed down the street.

Long day. My generator once again is getting a work out. Power is restored at my house, and my girls. One of her aunts is borrowing it now.

Posted this in another thread (engine trouble), but thought it was worth a look at the other aspect of the blizzard. My girl's CRD is the one with the tire on the back at about 0:28 and 0:34 (turn your volume down unless you like reallydramatic music - this is not my video):

Not bad. I was in Rhode Island for the Blizzard of 78 and wondered how this one compared for it. In fact, wasn't it the 35th anniversary of the blizzard of 78 not too long ago?

In those days 4x4's were rare...we drove a Chrysler duster-rear wheel drive.

I actually have it for flag jobs on the railroad. When the flag involves us to park on the interstate, we need a light. Well, because of the state of emergency, I figure I would look more official if I drove during the driving ban with a yellow light.
