I'm 47 years old, I owned a CJ, a YJ and 2 TJ's, the cj was a rolling garbage pail/refridgerator, the YJ was frankenteined lifted with pucks "i was young and broke" my first TJ was stock and it got wrecked, my second TJ was a rubicon sported a 4 inch lift kit with 33' mickey thompsons, i was in the local jeep club, member of jeep kings forums "canada" and went to MOAB in '05. Theeeeeeeeen I had a baby, then I had another baby, and the rubicon along with my princecraft got sold to upgrade our house and i ended up with a reliable yet ugly 02 Jimmy SLS for the past 5 years due to the baby seats and cargo space.
5 Years later "today" the jimmy passed away a cancerous death and I was rubbing my hands to get a new Wrangler, but low and behold, my priorities have all changed and I didn't want another money pit, I didn't want rusted hinges, my days of running the local forests and power line trails are just a happy distant memory, hell a convertible doesn't even excite me anymore or at least the hassle of changing tops and putting up the soft top up and down....... The 4 door wranglers look HOT but I just couldn't justify the 19K used for something thats just going to give me HOT...... remember im 47.....
SOOOOOOOO I looked at what I wanted to spend "not much" gave myself a 8K budget and looked at the trader online and the only think i kept going to was the Liberty, maybe the grille, maybe the Jeep logo is just engrained in my head, maybe im a sucker for punishment but I started aggressively looking for a Liberty in the condition, color, and price range "7K" and looked for months until one showed up that rang a bunch of bells. I found an 05 with 68Km's 30K miles owned by an elderly doctors wife as the only owner since new for 8K, I ended up negotiating her down to 6.5K with the winter tires and rims. I swear this thing looks like it just came off a showroom floor, barely any options other than Air and a sunroof....... Regardless I have fallen in love with my jellybean, my wife drives an '11 kia soul and my laneway looks like 2 lame guys live here with a jelly bean and a hamster side by side.......
Driving this thing you really have to love jeeps and I guess I do, the kids fit fine in the back, it actually drives smooth and has decent pickup, the cargo space is great. The only 3 things i can say negative about it is 1.) Friggin seat is too HIGH, I feel like im sitting on a throne with the whole world in front of me. 2.) my size 11 boot occasionally hits the brake and gas pedal at the same time and scares the doo doo out of me when im stopped. 3.)I'm going nuts trying to find a 225\75\16 tire that will look sexy on it. Other than that I recommend a jeep liberty to EVERYONE who wants a great vehicle with excellent offroad capabillities and is fun to drive for a LOW price as I think this is one of the most underrated and overlooked used SUV's on the market. If people say its a chick jeep, let them, I'd rather drive a chick jeep than a male jeep. Cheers to y'all and if anyone has any info on SEXY tires in this size 225\75\R16 that are good on road that that can handle offroad as I know I will catch the bug again please let me know.......im himming and hawing on the "general tire grabber" and the "Cooper at3's" :-)

Sounds like you found a good low mileage Liberty. I really like them as I am on my third one. And they are great offroad. :JEEPIN:
