The red KK has posted on this forum before. I remember it being a well outfitted ride. I cannot find the original thread to save my life right now though.

Just for poops and giggles I got a quote from Maniac Manufacturing and he said that they did that bumper for R14,000 which from some currency calculator online came to about $1500. He also said that they don't have the blueprints for KK's and they don't work on many KK's so they would need one in their shop to do the measurments and fit tests. I don't know about you guys but I don't feel it's worth it to ship my Jeep down to south africa to get fitted for a front bumper.

The shipping for the bumper coming to 'Merica scares me. I can only imagine how much it would cost to ship a jeep there and back. Unless I got a rental and had them fan one up off that Would be an awesome story though

Shipping your vehicle is not too bad really, its the time it takes is the worst part
I was going to ship mine to Tanzania but would of taken 3-4 weeks to get there.
Looking at shipping my wifes Toyota over here when she moves back but still unsure. I want to but she wants a new one :banghead: Plus of course its right hand drive

I put on a set from JCR offroad. The one downfall is, they are not painted. You have to have them treated and painted yourself. They are heavy but they serve two purposes IMO. I have "banged" them a couple of times so they function as needed, now with my 3inch lift, when people open their car door, they are greeted by my guard rail. :goink:

I see one other benefit. If I get t-boned by something short of a F350 on roids, I have what I feel is a roll bar on the side of the car. :grim:

How much did you pay to get them powder coated?

This page is starting to get off topic, but oh well.
I love my JCR Sliders, but my biggest peeve (and the same goes for the other brands too) is how much lower they make the rocker panels look ( 2") lower. If I didn't have my 4" lift then it would look really low. When looking at other real SUVs and Trucks it appears that they have a lot more ground clearance. I know they don't, because their framesticks down quite a bit lower than their rockers, and our unibody does not. But aesthetically I don't like it. Does that make sense?
I just spray painted mine (using a primer before) because its easy to touch up. If they get used they will need it.
I do like how much they have saved me, and they are very strong, though I did manage to put a dent in mine in Colorado.

I've always wanted to ship my Jeep to Australia and Africa and go on safari and explore the outback. But isn't it like $1,000 just to ship it one way? A little too much for a 1-2 week vacation for me. Oh well I can dream.

Didn't powder coat. Few coats of primer then a few coats of Rhino bed liner treatment. Got that no slip look going on. this is Michigan. No matter what I do, gonna get some chips (rust) at some point. I'll just sand blast the bottoms and do it again as needed. :furious:
