So i bought used radio and cruise control switches. and installed them on my jeep. Thee jeep did not previously have cruise or radio switches. I plugged in the new wiring harness and hooked up everything. The radio switches work but the cruise does not. I have checked switches with a volt meter and they appear to be working. Do i need to bring the jeep to the dealer to enable it to work? I dont even get the light on the dash for cruise let alone it actually working.

Not sure what to do, hope someone on here can help.

Yes, you need to take it to a dealer or find someone local with a DRBIII. That's what I had done after installing junkyard switches.

With DRBIII, you have to reset the cruise switch learning.

Then you have to continue holding the on/off position until the "CRUISE" lights up in the cluster.

5minutes max, takes longer to turn on the DRBIII than it does to do the procedure.

Does the vehicle have the remote locking feature ? If so, this indicates that the "BCM" is present (body control module). Some of the lower priced Liberty's did not have this module . More than you ver wanted to know in the below thread.

We can also reset the CC if you ship the ecm in for tuning. Of course the tune is more than the dealer, but pays for itself in fuel savings.

Just to add to GDE's comment. It's likely that a dealer, you can call and check, will charge you on the order of $100 to turn the cruise on in your ECU so if you go directly to GDE that's $100 you won't have to pay the dealer which can go toward the GDE tune.
