LOL I didnt get the comment at first because I looked at this post first. No actually the rug is a great sliding tool for our dogs who insist upon messing it up every 5 minutes.

Cant wait to get this recovery system painted and setup

The Hoodlift kit comes with:
- 1 set of instructions
- 2 gas springs
- 4 ball stud brackets
- 8 screws and lock washers
- a drill bit of the appropriate size

Tools needed:
- trim tool or flat screw driver
- masking tape
- sharpie marker
- center punch and hammer
- cordless drill
- 5/16 ratchet socket (for the screws) and drill attachment
- scissors (for trimming back hood insulation where the ball studs mount)

Time needed: about 30-60 minutes
The install requires drilling 8 holes (2 for each ball stud bracket). That means after completing this mod, the Jeep will be officially yours.

Here's a pic from the Hoodlift website. Mine looks exactly the same, except it's blue. :jester: It's too dark outside to take pictures now.

I might have to tackle this one gents !

Installed a 7" touchscreen. Rotated my tires. Changed the oil a week ago. Nothing exciting. I think I'm going to order the 4" JBA rear springs to replace my OME rear springs though cause its sagging a little due to extra weight back there now.

My battery died out of the blue on an all around weird saturday... :grim:

Got it tested after work, no voltage

120 bucks later...GOT A NEW BATTERY :banghead:

At least it's something I won't have to worry about for a while.

Did some cleaning and TLC inside the Jeep. Washed the windows (inside), dash, armrest, doors, cleaned the seats (eliminating some spilled Indian food...) and vacuumed out the footwells. It is a beautiful and sunny day outside, and it was nice to spend some time out there. :JEEPIN:

On another note, I got the closest I have been to wheeling since getting the lift. "Wheeling" is of course not really what I did, but I was sort of off road in a way. The bottom of Port Royal Ave in Philly is nothing but a one lane wagon trail made of cobblestones, and it's a really steep hill through a power line cut and some abandoned farmland. Nobody in a regular car would want to attempt that (not saying they wouldn't make it), but the Jeep took it in stride, in both directions. 4 wheel drive wasn't needed at all. I'm looking forward to taking the Jeep on some real trails this summer up in the mountains.

This is a custom recovery system made by forum member Atthehelm. See http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=74055

I believe he is making more and it's really a great piece for what he is charging for it. I just installed mine yesterday (I got mine without the receiver and he put a dune flag mount on it for me)

I really like the look those covers give, they should've come that way.

Today I installed my rear power inverter. Because I got such a small one, it is entirely self contained behind the panel covering the jack storage area on the left side of the trunk, but there is enough airflow for proper cooling. Here are some photos of the installation.

What you see in the trunk:
Image

Closeup of the outlet and switch:
Image

The inverter is secured to the inside of the removable panel using mounts that came with an old set of window blinds. I extended the wires from the inverter to the on/off switch and the 3-prong outlet so I could mount the inverter's face plate on the outside of the plastic panel.
Image

The inverter is powered by an auxiliary 12 volt power outlet that I installed next to the jack. It can be easily disconnected, so that the panel with the inverter is completely removable if I need to access the jack.

Here it is prior to reassembly
